"His Majesty King Charles has been captured in a photograph during one of his increasingly uncommon appearances since his cancer diagnosis was revealed last month."

"The captured image, which surfaced in the Daily Mail on March 8, shows the 75-year-old monarch aboard a vehicle as he departs from Windsor Castle on the day."

"Reportedly, this particular encounter occurs just two days following the broadcast of news regarding the passing of King Charles’s friend and huntsman, Ian Farquhar, on the royal Highgrove estate, likely presaging the King’s attendance at Farquhar’s memorial service."

"King Charles III has been photographed meeting war veterans at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
An official Press Association photographer took the picture of Charles at Buckingham Palace on March 19. He was meeting a small group of veterans who fought in the Korean War."

@Meanderer
Thanks again for keeping us up to date with RF posts and pictures.
I have lived in Canada for over 60 years but I grew up with them in my life
so a big part of me is still very British as far as the Royals are concerned.
Wishing them all the best throughout this very trying time .

"King Charles’ spokesperson expressed the monarch’s pride for his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton after she revealed her cancer diagnosis last night."

Buckingham Palace said the King is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did”.

"The pair have 'remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks' after they spent time in hospital together, according to the spokesperson."

"They added that Charles and his wife, Camilla, 'will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time'."

"In a video statement released on Friday, Princess of Wales announced she was diagnosed with cancer after a planned abdominal surgery in January."

She said she is now undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

The news comes a few weeks after the monarch revealed he was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year following a separate procedure for a benign prostate enlargement.

Wow it’s hard to believe it’s been that long!

King Charles' Turning to Edward and Sophie to Help for First Time Leads to Major Royal Shift

sophie-ed-buck-palace.jpg

"The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh led their first major royal duties on Monday, April 8 on the king’s behalf at Buckingham Palace."

"The important ceremony, which would’ve been hosted by the king accompanied by Queen Camilla, marked the 120th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale, an agreement between countries united against German ambitions in the decade before World War One."

"The trusting of the pair to host such a significant event for the first time ever and represent the king amongst dignitaries, the likes of Her Excellency, the French Ambassador to the U.K., Hélène Duchêne, marks a major shift in the royals’ roles."

"The delighted couple, clearly up for the challenge, pulled out all the stops for their most epic appearance to date. A beaming Sophie made a touching gesture to her husband during their appearance to show their solidarity."

"Following tradition, the Bank of England’s governor Andrew Bailey presented the king with the first printed notes, serial number 00001, during the event on Tuesday, where they were joined by Sarah John, the bank’s chief cashier and director of banking. This summer, other low serial number notes will be auctioned through Spink & Son, a London-based collectibles house, with the proceeds going to charity."

"King Charles is poised to break royal tradition at Buckingham Palace. After more than five years of renovations, the reigning monarch will open the palace's East Wing to the public for the first time in history throughout July and August 2024."

"The East Wing encompasses the front of the historic residence, which includes the Principal Floor and the famous Buckingham Palace balcony, where the royal family has gathered for public appearances since the 1800s."

"The forthcoming tours, priced at £75.00 ($93), will see visitors discover the Wing’s history and explore highlights from the royal collection."

"Designed by architect Edward Blore, the East Wing was constructed between 1847 and 1849 during Queen Victoria’s expansion of Buckingham Palace."

"At the suggestion of Prince Albert, the Buckingham Palace balcony facing toward the historic Mall was constructed to ensure the royal family could be visible to the British public during important events, including Coronation and Jubilee celebrations."

King Charles reached for a cheerful tie for his first public engagement following his cancer diagnosis, sparking speculation about its meaning.

The King, 75, significantly stepped out for his first forward-facing engagement since the palace announced the news about his health in February, visiting the Macmillan Cancer Centre at the University College Hospital London on April 30 with Queen Camilla. The monarch stylishly arrived in a navy pinstripe suit with a pocket square paired with his pink and blue tie featuring dinosaurs.

"Rex-cellent choice!" courtiers wrote on May 1 with dinosaur emojis.🦖

A former royal staffer tells the Daily Beast that Charles's decision to not acknowledge his son's event “shows they don’t want to do anything to encourage Harry to spend more time in the U.K. Charles is never going to endorse a hostile, rival royal operation on his doorstep. Instead, Charles sent a clear message that he is not welcome to conduct official, quasi-royal events in the U.K. that distract from the monarchy’s message and agenda.”

Postecoglou has no qualms in disappointing King Charles and relegating Burnley

"May 10 (Reuters) - Tottenham Hotspur Ange Postecoglou visited Buckingham Palace this week but the Australian could leave King Charles disappointed on Saturday by relegating Burnley, a club the British monarch has a soft spot for."

"Speaking ahead of the game in which Tottenham will try to halt a four-match losing sequence in the Premier League and send Burnley down, Postecoglou recalled his royal date."

"We got an invite from the Australian government. Me and the other Aussies in the group, Mile (Jedinak), Scott (Munn), Charlie Grant from the women's team. It was nice, a different experience," Postecoglou told reporters." READ MORE

King Charles hands military title to son William in rare joint appearance

Charles presented William with the title of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, a position the 75-year-old monarch held for 32 years, in front of an Apache helicopter, and watched by service personnel at the Army Flying Museum in southern England.

"He's a very good pilot indeed," Charles said of his son, a former helicopter search and rescue pilot for Britain's Royal Air Force.

At the handover ceremony, Charles said he was saying goodbye with "sadness" but the Army Air Corps would go from "strength to strength" under his son.

"Look after yourselves and I can't tell you how proud it has made me to have been involved with you all this time," Charles said.
