Does raping little boys from the age of 6 on, while methodically physically and emotionally abusing them on a continual basis, not count as a mitigating circumstance? I think unless we've been mentally beaten down like they were, we can never understand their learned helplessness.
But we have only their word that any of it actually happened. No evidence , every photo [that i saw] showed them smiling [through various age stages] .
But family. will also have seen what kind of people those parents were when it came to being authoritarians, harsh, secretive, etc. Not to mention that there were the mother's photos of the boys *******s. I'll bet none of us even know of a family where mom took pictures of the son's privates! And there was the sharing of information by one of the boys to a cousin and as well the statement by that musician who said he was raped by Jose Menendez. Men rarely report being raped when it didn't happen.
First I've heard about the photos mom took, OK, should she have been shot to death for that ? Were they ******* shots ? , or naked baby shots ? I know many folks that are embarrassed by their naked baby shots mom took. Model prisoner does not mean innocent/not guilty.
When a safe opportunity (though awful/wrong) presents itself to the victim of continued horrific abuse from the perpetrator of it who holds psychological and or physical power over the victim, and the fear consumed victim knows of no other way to escape further abuse, does the victim put it into action, or instead run away, when the perpetrator can legally have them brought back? ??
The victim goes to the authorities . If the victim is really a victim.
If there was any evidence that the abuse actually took place, I seriously doubt the legal system would have let them be sent back ...... jmo
Photos were shown as evidence in one of the trials and they were close up's of young boys privates. Not cute 'baby on fur rugs'pictures. Photos that child porn users would appreciate. Not normal, but very, very sick and imminently suspicious under the circumstances. As to being privy to ALL the evidence in the second trial, I believe it's been said that they didn't see much of the sexual abuse information.
I was just watching a recap of the two trials (on Netflix) and while the first trial included all the sexual abuse witnesses, the second did not. No friends, no family, no teachers, no coaches to testify to what they saw and a refusal by the judge to allow the 'battered wife' syndrome defence because the boys weren't women.
I just recently dropped netflix due to their constantly rising cost.
A cousin of the brothers testified in court that he had been told about the sexual abuse when it was happening.
I watched that one first and based on it, was uncertain about the whole thing, their defence and the presented outcome. But after listening to the documentary that went over the trials that took place, I kind of changed my mind about them and what they did. And for anyone who wants to accuse me of condoning murder, I most certainly don't, but I can understand better how the whole situation developed and how they could finally snap and how the last trial wasn't fair. Even how it was shocking to hear that men generally speaking, didn't think boys/teens could be sexually abused at that time and so didn't want to countenance any suggestion of 'understanding'.
And one female cousin has also said that Lyle told her when he was about 8 and she was sleeping over, that his father was touching him 'down there' and she went and told her aunt, who simply dragged the poor kid back upstairs to wait for his father.

That is hearsay , at best . If I am expected to forgive them, understand their actions/crime ? I need something of evidence .
OK, I understand that , but what do they know ? What evidence/proof do they have ?
