Lawyers Should Never Be Allowed In Politics

Never met a lawyer that didn't expect something from you, Blood, belongings etc.
Never met a truthful one either. It's just difficult to prove their liars; lots of practice there!

Most know that most all in business are D- liars, con-men and thieves.
If you hire a lawyer, if you ever said anything you hamstring their lies.
Saying absolutely nothing give them lots of room to experiment, get lots better. Smug ain't it.

My dad was a lawyer. He was not a politician, but well attuned to the crooks in that discipline and went after them.
As you know in California, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington one does not need to go to law school just pass the Bar exam .

We can all look forward to the beautiful and most talented Kim Kardashian to one day serve in the highest court

Here come the butt-crack jokes
I love them and have countless rated X jokes which would sadly get me banned but all kidding aside having done jokes at a convention 20 years ago other plumbers do not like them .

EVERY group regardless of trade , age , gender , ethnicity , etc , etc is sensitive .

Sure I could mock electricians and that went well just not other plumbers .

Every level of government, local, state and federal has advisory attorneys. My dad was elected to several terms as mayor and before any town ordinance or request for bids could be introduced it had to be first reviewed by the town’s attorney.

Before any contract could be awarded to a low bidder that company had to be scrutinized and vetted. The attorney will review applications for state and federal grants, and appeal any rejection.

You may know who your elected officials are, but they don’t do anything without consulting the attorney first.

To become a Judge, including a Supreme Court Justice, a high school diploma is sufficient. This has bothered me beyond the pale, for not everyone really understands how the Constitution is written to be applied. Yet, it is the common man who is supposed to be running this nation.

I had a great-uncle who was what was called back then a "country lawyer".

He didn't even graduate from high school. Instead, he "read law" with an established lawyer for a few years and then set up on his own, doing wills, preparing suits for property disputes, etc. On the side he farmed......or most likely, his law practice was his side gig and farming put the bacon on the table...LOL.

If you get in trouble with the justice/legal system, I'm quite sure you'll hire the kid, who stocks shelves at your local grocery store, to defend you; rather than one of those blood sucking lawyers.
Lawyers are part of the Elite, like doctors, to be used only in emergencies. They are never found among the people, with the exceptions of
Albert Schweitzer and others like him.

I'm divorced my wife filed for a divorce we simply grew apart and no big deal but as you stated ' angry divorce ' as you are correct and that is WW3 in our case we split things up and she kept the house in Albany I bought one here , no big deal .

My main concern was the fish and she had no interest in them so it worked out .
Yeah, "winning' in some affairs just ain't worth it. Walking away - losing - many times *is* winning.

Let me throw this business idea your way and tell me what you think .

My neighbor a young lawyer starting out , myself a retired plumber still doing light jobs .

I told him we come together start our own practice call it Plumbing and Legal Advice .

With my thinking it's a gold mine .

Was not a lawyer but was state certified Paralegal. Went to Paralegal school for a year, full-time. I loved reading the law. Most of my jobs in life were legal-based in offices and Family Court. In my area, paralegals may have clients and appear before judges for non criminal matters. I like most lawyers I have known. Hey, it's a living!

I would think as a Paralegal you can work as long as you want , part time after retirement if you choose to ?

I just did a quick google, and about 30% of congress and 51% of senators have practiced law or have law degrees.
I think there are around 100 MP's in the UK Parliament who had a law background before going into politics. it’s common for MPs to have backgrounds in law, given the legal nature of parliamentary work and their roles in drafting legislation and scrutinizing government policy.

Our current Prime Minister was a 'barrister' -- I think that would be a trial attorney in the US? He was later appointed as Queen's Counsel (QC) for outstanding advocacy and expertise in the law. He then became Director of Public Prosecutions. Only later did he entre politics.

Abe Lincoln was a self taught Lawyer, but that period is quite legally different than now.

I am just curious as to why do you think a lawyer would leave his practice if making over $200,000 a year for a job that only pays $175,000? Out of that money, they have to pay their own living expenses and food while working in D.C., not to mention maintain their homes in the state they came from.

I think they make out very well from special interest lobbyists, not to mention money earned from book deals. I’m not sure if they are allowed to earn money while in office giving speeches to private groups.
