My son and his wife were in a serious car accident.

Sorry to hear the bad news. As the population of the world grows more and more every year, we are going to see more and more conflicts. Traffic accidents will become more common. I see this everyday with the speed of the traffic and the running through with red lights.

I talked to a nurse yesterday and she told me how tough it is for a doctor to tell a 17 year old that was involved in an accident that he will never ever walk again due to his spinal injury. I repeat, "a 17 year old."

I would like to state that the accident which may yet kill my son and his wife had absolutely nothing to do with rising population numbers or traffic congestion. It occurred in a quiet suburban area. An extremely drunk man decided to run a red light. With respect, I had requested prayers and positive thoughts for my family, not bleak social commentary. That post reduced me to tears.

My heart sank when I first read this, I felt it drop, yet I have neither met you nor your son and his partner. I don't no what to say, other than my thoughts are with you and your family. And hope evreyone pulls through this.

No other comments are required, other than wishing everyone well.

I wonder if we should leave this thread, in the "Diaries” Community, created by Shalimar to be used as just that, a diary. So Shalimar can use it as a diary, as opposed to we using it to post other similar or not so similar experiences. Just posting our best wishes or similar as an exception? It was just a thought.
