I'd make a wager that about 80% of those motorcycle accidents involve a vehicle making a left turn and not seeing the bike.
Yep, and the car is much more likely to be at fault. However a motorcyclist is 27 times more likely to die in the accident than passengers in the car...
Absolutely... However, I'd also wager that with the lack of proper training concerning driving an automobile and the added factor of distracted drivers (cell phones come to mind) has a lot to do with modern statistics. Having ridden motorcycles for 59 years, I can attest to the fact that distracted drivers have gotten worse and it's a lot more dangerous out there.
I am so sorry to hear this. And I'm sure it didn't help that one of our resident tag-team trolls was a nasty to her. Sure wish we could do something about the few that are in every.single.controversial.thread stirring up garbage.

Stop responding to these people. They live to stir the pot and then wait for a reaction, then they stir it some more. It fuels them. We've made ourselves clear on several occasions about how we feel about their crap. They are incapable of controlling themselves and won't change. It's who they are.
This is what you can do: Don't take the bait and stop feeding their sickness. You can't reach these people. Leave them alone.
I think this lady lives here on Vancouver Island, maybe she was not ready to go home , she carries a heavy burden which for the strongest of us would be immense. I hope that she is in a place where she can look out of her window, watch the birds in the trees or see the water.
