"Mystery" Drones Flying Over Parts of New Jersey, New York & Pennsylvania

watching the news about these "drones" last eve and one
looked to me like a normal large airplane just flying over, with
lights, including lights where the landing gear was dropped
down, but news didn't mention that, just said it was "drone" !!!
The ones I saw over Verrazzano Bridge looked like normal, but tiny, regular aircraft.

Is it me, or what?
Congress is all aflutter about drones over the Northeast.
Drones are not illegal. You can buy them almost everywhere. And big ones are relatively cheap. But, OMG!! they have cameras. Yet, if you're a commie spy, you don't need to buy a drone, just log on to satellite feeds with great resolution of the planet.
Yeah, people are buying drones and flying them, so exactly why is everybody freaking out?
Duh, it's kind of like freaking out that there are cars on the highway.
There are laws about where you can fly your personal drone, at what altitudes, and how large they can be.

Cameras are ok, weapons and explosives are illegal.

It's illegal to fly a drone within a certain number of feet from windows and people. I think that varies from 50 to 300 ft, depending in the state.

There are definite drone no-fly zones.

I've seen a number of reports that claim these drones are causing electronic interference and even taking over vehicle GPS systems. One guy pulled over and arrested in NJ said he was unknowingly diverted into the hood in Philly by the drones and had been hypnotized into buying and consuming drugs. Others reported having their Hot Pockets overcooked. The drones are also said to be responsible for spontaneous mattress tag removal (Federal offense). When will this madness stop ??

This is just one more example of the government insisting, “There’s nothing to see here. Move along.” But we all know there is something to see, and they’re just not telling us the truth. Again. If drones Star showing up in Texas, I’m pretty sure someone would shoot them down.

And I don’t think it’s hysteria to wonder what the hell is going on. Drones can be weaponiced very effectively. There are scads of YouTube videos showing drones taking out Russian tanks And trucks and railroad cars.
I'd be more worried about error leading to aircraft accidents, running into power lines, bird strikes bringing one down onto a home, etc.

What if this is just a modern version of "War of the Worlds"?
Just look at the hysteria.
I don't see hysteria... just concern from seeing these things flying over our nuclear plants and other infrastructure.
Big difference is that War of the Worlds didn't really have the spaceships appearing and visible. Nor did they have government denying that anything's wrong when we know something's wrong. It's like in trying to possibly prevent mass panic, they're causing it.

Some drones were recently reported off the coast of Oregon, too.

Here's some chatter between Air Traffic Control and a couple of commercial pilots that spotted a number of "odd crafts" going back and forth from over the Pacific to several miles inland at outrageous speeds. (on Dec 7th)

New Jersey state officials gave a public speech about an hour or two ago saying they've asked the FAA to update laws regarding personal and business drones, reminded people that drones make deliveries now, and said they've requested advanced drone technology and radar systems for their police and Coast Guard.

They asked people to call police non-emergency numbers rather than 911 to report sightings, and said NJ police will prioritize those calls and forward them to the state Homeland Security office.

And they asked people to please don't shoot at drones.

Per CNN: "It isn't just the tin-foil-hat brigade saying there are drones out there in the sky and acting strange, elected officials say they've seen the drones, the US Coast Guard says it has encountered the drones, and today a US Navy base in New Jersey says it has spotted 'several instances' of unidentified drones entering their airspace."

A federal spokesman said "Neither federal nor state or local law enforcement have corroborated any of the visual sightings. It appears that many of the sightings are actually manned aircraft being operated lawfully."

That's obviously a lie, and it's pissing people off.

Out of dozens of the objects that were recorded and/or photographed, 4 of them were confirmed to be either a helicopter or airplane. That's not "many of the sightings". And groups of dozens of the objects have been seen buzzing sensitive infrastructure and military installations by personnel at those sites, as well as local residents. Regarding those sightings, when the feds say "no known threat" people hear "if there's a threat, we don't know what it is". I mean, is there a significant difference bx "no known threat" and "unknown threat"? No significant difference to most people.

But anyway, Jersey elected officials are moving quickly to get better technology for police and their Coast Guard and demanding reasonable answers from the feds.
