Clearly their prey were the trusting, confused, and folks with diminished cognitive capacity. Truly slimy.
They truly are slimy.
At some point we too could become the vulnerable. That’s another scary part of this.

Exactly so, Jules. My father-in-law had an extremely complicated job and was nobody's fool even ten years earlier. DH & I could see that he was slipping some, but didn't seem to be dangerously naive. He could barely notice the changes in himself. They truly are slimy.

I have. And I get calls from Direct TV, too. I don't have either ATT or Direct TV. I don't own my home, but I get those solar panel calls and my car never had a car repair warranty or Amazon Prime, but I get those calls. I used to hand the phone to Paxton when he first started talking. He loved getting those calls. This morning I received a text that I assume is a scam of some sort.
The message had a Texas telephone number and a message saying that the most recent AT&T bill has been paid. Here is a little gift for you.
Has anyone else received a similar text?
County Morgue, you stab them we slab them...Once in a while when I feel orneryI'll answer one of those calls with "Police Station" There is an emideate click & they are gone. That way they won't sell my number to others.
