Newsweek reports United States is the 2nd most hated country in the world

For a couple decades I have perceived the world as increasingly disliking the US. The article says "

" a major cause of the animosity directed toward the US is the country's tendency to overstep when trying to influence international events in a way that benefits the U.S.," the World Population Review says.

"While this country's appearance on the 'most hated' list may surprise many Americans, few Asians or Europeans will bat an eyelash," it added.

Sometimes, being an ally of US feels a bit like being friends with a shark.

He WAS speaking for himself. His post says, "I think it has been the wars. Iraq, Afghanistan . . . "
As you know problem with Afghanistan is that the Taliban which I sure as heck would not want to live under if a woman did not have a thing to do with 9-11 , they had no idea it was going to happen .

It was Osama and his group but the Taliban under the one eyed Mullah refused to hand over Osama so we had to go in to get him .

The government corruption was so unreal that it was a lost cause and though the numbers of Taliban we took out was staggering they continued to replenish their ranks because they wanted us out of their country .

As you know the objective was to get Osama and his inner circle but even after that we stayed to nation build which was fruitless and we were never going to accomplish that there .

Sad irony is the one eyed Mullah who led the Taliban , they loved him was once a great advocate for women he went up against a war lord in his younger days for raping a girl but he later became the same disaster for women he once hated .

Irony of the Taliban is that they are warriors but terrified of women and treat them like livestock but again that place was a lost cause .

As you know turns out we were even paying the salary of countless Afghan soldiers which never existed .

As Americans we live in the world of black and white but the real world is often not that , though I did not see any combat I was in Nam with the Cav and it was same thing there as lies were being sent home and corruption there was bad .

I speak for myself. IMO this pause you posted as a reference best serves America. *I live here & expect leadership to look after my best interest.
From your earlier post, I thought you were pleased with the level of foreign aid the U.S. provided since you included a link about it. Since the level of aid has been significantly trimmed, you apparently consider that means current leadership is looking after your best interest. It's amazing "they" found all that waste in just weeks.

*I live here too, Knight, and like you, I expect responsible leadership. I look forward to some time in the future when we have it again.

A lot depends on the survey and how it was conducted. What questions were asked, and how were they asked. What ages and political persuasions? And how are they translating the survey data into a "most hated country" list? How would someone even deduce a level of hate from a survey? Hate seems a strong word.

The obvious question is which group of surveys is Newsweek quoting?

This survey from Kings College London. 23,800 people across 31 countries were polled for the study:

Below is what Americans in the survey thought of the rest of the world:

I think we will all agree that left leaning media / talking heads have their special worded surveys to put the Republican President down and right leaning media / talking heads do the same exact thing to Democrat administrations .

Objective anything is hard to come by , perhaps impossible .

It's probably that most don't feel like we are trust worthy. Making big promises and delivering trash. That is a little extreme but do u trust your fellow american?

I find it fascinating that so many Americans are surprised that we are not so well liked. After decades of snide remarks, asides and delving into stereotypes, how can you not realize it.

Generally, they like the concept of America, just not Americans. If you have visited many countries as I, you recognize a peculiar vibe of superiority. I would say the Asian countries try to outdo each other, but the Europeans have a certain disdain... for each other, let alone Americans.

I don't worry about it.

'' but do u trust your fellow american?''

Yes very much so . Keep in mind most people are good people but for some reason as rule the good people do not wind up in politics though some exceptions and the bad always stick out but American or not most are good people .
