Newsweek reports United States is the 2nd most hated country in the world

Talk about changing the subject. That is incredible. You'd think people were being defensive, and don't want to face how our image in the US is bad now.
The report is questionable. Even so, I don't particularly care what "our image" is. People don't like it, they can stay in their own country, move to another country or vote for a change.

But you have to admit... it's been fun.

I mean, c'mon! A discussion thread that covers the Civil War, hand written checks, and cowbells?

THAT'S entertainment.

No, this is!

Thats Entertainment -- The Jam

I took the issue of what happened to this thread to my favorite AI and asked for a short poem about it. 🤷‍♀️ This is what it came up with:

Words upon words, a winding trail,
Thoughts unbound, set free to sail.
Thirty pages, drifting wide,
Where sense and meaning softly hide.

Like a river, twist and turn,
Somewhere deep, ideas burn.
Yet in the maze of tangled lore,
A spark of wisdom—nothing more.

Much better than some song lyrics I know. What image do you have in mind? Hard Rock, a ballad, or some other?

Janis Joplin-esque.
Uh oh... now you have to add "AI poems and Janis Joplin" to your list... sorry for the inconvenience. :giggle:

Just had a thought! I might frame that list and put it up somewhere. I wonder where the best place to would be to hang it. And in which room?

AI are great at creating poems. I have all kinds of poems about our dogs and they are all great.

to GP44 - the protests here I mean on this site are unfortunately governed by a "no direct political person or party criticism" you do follow that I assume? So I think I can make a few cursory comments about govt decisions and movements [can we?] but not level my discussion and criticism at any one party /or person ? - yes I realize that is not democratic but for further clarification you will need to take this up with the owner?? So with all due respect as long as you realize you are walking through a minefield as the dear Princess Dianna once did - best of luck??
What?

A little humor and side tracking never hurt anyone
I beg to differ, ridicule disguised as humour can be soul destroying.

Ironic, your quote in the signature line..... "People without a sense of humour should not be allowed to decide what people with a sense of humour are allowed to laugh at. It would be like allowing colour-blind people to decide which colours should be on a colour chart." J.C." :ROFLMAO:
Humour is very subjective, the first rule of humour is that as long as you think it's funny them anyone else is a bonus.

I found a dead Aussie on the beach today and reported it to the police. They asked how I knew he was dead. I said, 'Well, he wasn’t drunk, he wasn’t swearing, he wasn’t arguing or fighting with anyone, and he wasn’t bragging — so I figured he had to be dead.
