is there any point in continuing with this thread we don't actually have one for China or Russia or any other feckin country in the world - I find this preposterous very out of balance and very unreasonable towards the host country of this forum - if willing please remove not just on behalf of my request but I believe many others also! please speak up all members

đź’Ż Thank you, Smiley. My personal "speak up" is that most likely anyone who's going to either support or complain about the United States already did so waaaaaay back around page 5 or so. Anything beyond may have been considered pot stirring to some degree.

Unlike others, I didn't mind the subject changes and getting into things like ancestry and everything else... those are the things that made me smile and prevented me from saying things I'd most likely end up regretting and no longer able to edit. @smiley

Isn't that the very reason it belongs? This site is predominately US centric, so where else is such a topic relevant? Not that one has to participate or read a thread.

I wonder how many Americans realized this was the case? I wonder how many can appreciate the reasons this might be so? Not that it'll change anything about what you do, just as a point of interest. It took me (from the UK) two years before I had fully adjusted to the American way of life - yet we're often considered to be the same (England and the USA).

I think the thread ran its course a long time ago, but it was fun all the same, mostly. Seems now though, that even the most opinionated have gotten bored with it, regardless of which side of the fence of their own making they are sitting on.

Isn't that how the majority of threads are? Each thread lives and dies based on the attention it's given by way of new posts..... if one dislikes a subject, then don't read the thread, and don't post, you know?

True, but this one went beyond its sell-by date. I think many might have remained because of how ridiculous it had become. With some then contributing to that ridiculousness for the fun of it. Nothing wrong with that, in itself, as long as people see it for what it is, or was.

I admit, I've not read the entire thread. Since I have been absent for some time, I missed it.

You could start one about another country if you like and redress the balance- what do you dislike about Russia or China or wherever you want to discuss. No country, including USA, is off limits from doing so.

Since. as far as I know, there are no Chinese or Russian posters, it would probably proceed without anyone getting all upset and defensive that everyone doesn't think their country is the greatest on earth.

A thread ends when people stop posting on it or Matrix locks it. Not sure which will be the case.

Good Lord, now there's a debate on when to end this thread. :ROFLMAO:

I hope the discussion in the ending of this thread doesn't pick up momentum, as I will miss your running commentary. And besides, it added a nuance that can't be found in any other thread.

No, the list of first world countries is much the same as ever - and no I dont think most of them have destroyed themselves at all

Strange claim
