Now It's 5 Shot Dead in a Louisville, Kentucky Bank.

That's socialism!!!

Hopefully, the MSM will look into and disclose to the public why the shooter was getting fired. Was he a total screw-up or was he unstable? .........
This is something they need to know because depending who and when he was told about being fired gave him time to prepare. Usually companies want to keep that secret and do it by surprise.

Also yes one is 'fired' when being laid off compared to being fired for doing something wrong. This sounds like downsizing because if one screwed up a firing is asap. In this case word selection matters. And since he targeted employees in a meeting was he going for the person who took his spot or recommended he be fired or let go.

Believe it or not sometimes surprise is better than knowing yet no official informed. This is a reason many companies escort fired employees to the door and/or observe them when they clean out their stuff.

Regardless this cowardly pos killer Connor Sturgeon is the one that chose to kill even if his firing was handled poorly.

As I said I have no answers but it sure seems that at minimum after Columbine we would have seen WITHIN A YEARS TIME from that event some kind of corrective prevention get installed at schools. Maybe it wouldn't have worked but at least an effort would have been attempted.
Same with work place shootings. A national summit meeting of some sort to look into and attempt some sort of program to spot troubled employees and also increase security somehow. And here we are a few decades later after Columbine with no improvements. Just an increase in the number of shootings
A "cool-off" period might have prevented this rampage, since the shooter purchased the AR-15 just six days before he murdered all those people. If he had to wait 30 days, he might have reconsidered his plan, or he might have gotten help, or someone might have alerted authorities that he was acting strange...

I guess even a wait period infringes on our 2nd Amendment rights.

This may have been a sick person who decided he wanted some fame when he committed suicide. Selfish. Since he sent a note/email to his parents ahead of time, he may have wanted them to suffer. As Warhol & @Pepper said, his 15 minutes of fame. If only he understood that it confirmed that he was scum.

We live in a society where so much wrongdoing is overlooked or excused, and where everyone is a victim who deserves reparations. And by the way, God has been forgotten.
Amen, sister
Much is talked about banning this or that
Thing is
You can't legislate morality
This nation is now a godless one
Without looking to God, one tends to look at self, being mistreated, maligned, abused

Too much of that can build a rage

Here in CA, we have a 10-day wait for each gun purchase, along with a detailed background check. Why is it stupid?
If someone intends to commit murder, why would they have to use the gun they're buying, instead of the gun they already own?

Perhaps you have the answer to the problem of the high rate of homicides, mass murders and the occasional massacre in the US, almost all of which involve a person and some kind of gun.

If you have, please share it.

Well, honestly IMO, reopening the asylums would very likely be a good start.

There are others that [might] work but. That would be going way off topic and just create argument over those.

So I'll just leave it at this.

not every one wants to fight for this country but they sure do like to live here and let someone else fight for them. so we can chalk them up to not being the mass shooter. that only leaves about 200million adults and of that I surmise three fourths are armed to the teeth, and half of that is left will think about killing someone the remainder in some way will commit a homicide, gun, knife, baseball bat, car, choking...there is no stopping it, it has been going on since man fell out of the trees and beat his fellow tree dweller to death for food!

mitch86 "Our 2nd Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the right of every American to own a gun."
no the 2nd amendment does NOT give the right to own firearms to every citizen, you stretch that out a tad bit their ol boy. what it does do is give those citizens who are in the militia the right to keep firearms.
Mitch is right, of course exceptions for felons, etc.

I have a headache from researching all this about felons and firearms and constitution and supreme court and federal law and etc and etc......yall do what ya want................

Not the Constitution, Statutory laws.
Laws are invalid if the SCOTUS decides they're unConstitutional.

They decided that money is speech and that there was no Constitutional right to abortion, so I wouldn't put it pass them to rule the statutory laws restricting gun rights for felons to be unConstitutional. Then again, their racism might factor in to their ruling.

They have not ruled such to date!

How many more killings do we have to endure in this country before action is finally taken?
Got this from another site I frequent

This teacher took action since Columbine

ATTENTION ALL TEACHERS AND PARENTS

This is an article that needs to be repeated:

Every Friday afternoon Chase’s teacher asks her students to take out a piece of paper and write down the names of four children with whom they’d like to sit the following week. The children know that these requests may or may not be honored. She also asks the students to nominate one student whom they believe has been an exceptional classroom citizen that week. All ballots are privately submitted to her.

And every single Friday afternoon, after the students go home, Chase’s teacher takes out those slips of paper, places them in front of her and studies them. She looks for patterns.

Who is not getting requested by anyone else?

Who doesn’t even know who to request?

Who never gets noticed enough to be nominated?

Who had a million friends last week and none this week?

You see, Chase’s teacher is not looking for a new seating chart or ā€œexceptional citizens.ā€ Chase’s teacher is looking for lonely children. She’s looking for children who are struggling to connect with other children. She’s identifying the little ones who are falling through the cracks of the class’s social life. She is discovering whose gifts are going unnoticed by their peers. And she’s pinning down- right away- who’s being bullied and who is doing the bullying.

As a teacher, parent, and lover of all children – I think that this is the most brilliant Love Ninja strategy I have ever encountered. It’s like taking an X-ray of a classroom to see beneath the surface of things and into the hearts of students. It is like mining for gold – the gold being those little ones who need a little help – who need adults to step in and TEACH them how to make friends, how to ask others to play, how to join a group, or how to share their gifts with others. And it’s a bully deterrent because every teacher knows that bullying usually happens outside of her eyeshot – and that often kids being bullied are too intimidated to share. But as she said – the truth comes out on those safe, private, little sheets of paper.

As Chase’s teacher explained this simple, ingenious idea – I stared at her with my mouth hanging open. ā€œHow long have you been using this system?ā€ I said.

Ever since Columbine, she said. Every single Friday afternoon since Columbine.

This brilliant woman watched Columbine knowing that ALL VIOLENCE BEGINS WITH DISCONNECTION. All outward violence begins as inner loneliness. She watched that tragedy KNOWING that children who aren’t being noticed will eventually resort to being noticed by any means necessary.

And so she decided to start fighting violence early and often, and with the world within her reach. What Chase’s teacher is doing when she sits in her empty classroom studying those lists written with shaky 11 year old hands - is SAVING LIVES. I am convinced of it. She is saving lives.

And what this mathematician has learned while using this system is something she really already knew: that everything – even love, even belonging – has a pattern to it. And she finds those patterns through those lists – she breaks the codes of disconnection. And then she gets lonely kids the help they need. It’s math to her. It’s MATH.

All is love- even math. Amazing.

Chase’s teacher retires this year – after decades of saving lives. What a way to spend a life: looking for patterns of love and loneliness. Stepping in, every single day- and altering the trajectory of our world.

TEACH ON, WARRIORS. You are the first responders, the front line, the disconnection detectives, and the best and ONLY hope we’ve got for a better world. What you do in those classrooms when no one is watching- it’s our best hope.

Y'know, it's funny (not haha funny)
But
If we, as individuals, would stretch out a hand to those in need
Not so much giving to the local charities, but one on one
The poor, sure.....but what about those in mental need?
Those that are shunned
A word of kindness
it's not hard to find them

Consider the ten commandments in a nutshell;
Be nice
To God
and man

Heh, we can't even get along right here in this thread

What is getting along in a discussion/debate ?

People have different opinions & thoughts about damn near every topic/subject there is.

Is getting along when .... I just give in and agree with the opinion of those others ? Or ... when they just give in and agree with my opinion ?

IMO ... people never have , nor never will ever get along ... particularly when the topic/subject is something important/close too them .

It's sharing that opinion in a way that doesn't try to belittle the other person, or completely shut out their viewpoint, or without getting sarcastic. I know these things because I do all that when I'm really riled up, yet I truly do love you and Win and think highly of both of you. So there! ;)
