Old cliches that you are sick of

"The whole nine yards"
"Whatever"

I try to remember to go back over things I write to delete sentences I start with "So" or "Well". I think it is a habit I picked up from Facebook.
I've picked up the habit of saying "like." I cringe what I say it.

I'll sometimes say "as" where others would say "like," just to mix things up a little.

"Busier than a cat covering it."

"Nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs."

"Useless as a screen on a submarine." or "The 6th finger on a glove."

LOL! My favorite words ever..."Just calm down." Those 3 little words spoken when I'm angry pretty much push me to the limit.

Is the phrase "a woman's place is in the kitchen" a cliche?
Well, a woman's place will soon to be running for vice president on the democratic ticket. Many favor Kamala Harris, but I like Val Demins

- That which doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

- People are the same everywhere. :poop:

- Living in the past. (If there's one thing I hate, it's manipulation, and this one's used ranging from holding to one's values/standards to preferring t.v. shows or music from a different era- implying there's something wrong with the person's mind).

I had an unfriendly co-worker who frequently let people know he wasn't interested in what people said to him by asking,
"You're telling me this, why?"

When I was growing up my Aunt (my Mother's older sister) said these 3 things a lot and it got on my nerves.
children should be seen and not heard
going to hell in a hand basket
not my cup of tea

In later years my husbands older brother always would say “but I digress” That always got me annoyed.

Can I add a new one, pretty please? I need to vent!
If I hear "flatten the curve" one... more... time... 🙉
