May Day protests turned violent in Portland Oregon. Included full cans of Pepsi being "launched" at police. Protests turned into a riot later in the day other objects being thrown at police. Arrests made.

The cans a Pepsi I guess were supposed to be a twist or take on the controversial Pepsi commercial pulled earlier in the year in which protestors starting giving Pepsi to police.

Also note the arrest pictures of the FACES of the protestors. Hoodies, masks and bandanas will only go so far.

If some of these "protesters" spent half as much time getting an education, and working hard...as they do marching and complaining...they might actually make a difference. Those who decide to riot, loot, and burn, should be given NO sympathy....and thrown in jail.

It is indeed an old topic but has been refreshed by a newish member who perhaps didn't notice the date of the OP - 05-03-2017.

Ironically, in one of his first posts here that new member used one of my favorite phrases...
which was very interesting to me... because it is an obscure literary phrase.

One of my most cherished friends is a nurse practitioner who lives in Portland. She is quite sane. Loll.

I'm sure she is. That, however, would make her a member of a true minority.

P.S. Portland has a slogan. "Keep Portland weird"

Really? Then I would fit right in! I prefer eccentric, myself.

Shalimar you are NOT nuts. But having once lived there I can attest to how many nuts live there.

Didn't that "weird" slogan begin in Austin, TX? I've seen lots of t-shirts, hats, etc. with Keep Austin Weird on them, and always thought it originated there.

Gee, I just don't know. I have never heard of the same slogan about Austin. The way things are going, we will be able to say the same about every big city in America. :holymoly:
