I wonder if anyone else thinks this is the biz arrest thing you've ever heard:

'This week Labute Penitentiary, a medium security prison in Deacon County Texas, announced it will be recognizing the Second Amendment right of all its prisoners.
"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed just because an individual is in jail!"- Warden Lyle Wyatt, Labute Penitentiary
"Of course I know this is a prison, but it is an American prison," said Warden Lyle Wyatt in his interview with Pat Kelly.
When asked if he was concerned for the safety of both the inmates and prison staff, Wyatt responded by saying: "Not at all. If everybody has a gun, then everybody is safe ... besides the inmates are only allowed to have their guns in their cells."

There is a link to the warden's interview (5minutes 14seconds).

Personally, I think this is pretty bizarre.

But on closer inspection the news appears to be just a satirical story from the radio show 'This is That' aired by CBC which has its website hosted under the main cbc.ca domain. The domain name confusion has helped previous satirical articles from the show go viral, for example this one about a complete 47-car train that went missing somewhere in Canada.

Nope, it was first published in November, 2015 and I found it on Canada's national television station, CBC..........oh my goodness, now I feel silly. Not an April fools joke but this:

This Is That is a current affairs program that doesn't just talk about the issues, it fabricates them. See This Is That LIVE.

It was at the bottom of the page and I just didn't notice
:eek:was my face red!.............go back to what you were doing.

Hahahaha yourself Shalimar :DI have an excuse! And a very good one too I think. .......Yesterday we moved most of our household from Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley to Prince Edward Island, a six hour drive and when we arrived, the temperature was -11 (feels like -18!) with an awful wind blowing snow at us and everything had to be carted either up a flight of stairs or down a flight of stairs................................so what do you think, good excuse, I was tired?

Thanks Shalimar. So far I think we're going to like it. I think we're both at a stage of life where we're feeling a need to simplify. No more tractor repairs or plowing driveways, worrying about how bad the yard looks because of the darn skunk that has decided to recommence tearing up the lawn looking for grubs! Honestly I feel so bad that the new owners are going to move in and it looks like the lawns have been rototiller in patches! My mom has the same problem in Surrey, only in her case it's raccoons that are doing it.

Anyway, thank you for being so understanding and now it's time to hit the sack because I'm still in recovery mode and I'm still pooped.

Draconian New Gun Laws Require Americans To Count To 10 Before Buying Firearms

There are fears America is turning into a nanny state after President Obama announced sweeping changes to gun laws that will require residents to close their eyes and count to ten before taking ownership of semi-automatic weapons.

An outraged Republican Party said it would do whatever it could to overturn the changes. “It seems Obama is desperately trying to link guns to shootings in some elaborate way. That’s a very, very long bow, my friend. A very long bow,” a Republican spokesperson said today.

Many ordinary Americans say the new laws are unnecessarily strict and impinge on their second amendment rights. “These changes are ridiculous, overly oppressive, and quite frankly, downright scary. What next – he’ll want us to fill out a ******* form before we’re allowed to own an assault rifle? The Government is coming for you people. Mark my words,” Brad Nimbold from Florida said, adding that America’s forefathers would never have counted to ten before taking ownership of semi-automatic weaponry.

Another man said he had a right to be able to get guns instantly. “If I go into a gun shop to buy a gun, I expect to walk out with a gun. And as soon as my credit card application is approved, that’s exactly what I’ll be doing,” he said.

Obama made some last-minute concessions – prospective gun owners will be able to count to ten as quickly as they like. But the President said he wouldn’t be bullied by gun lobbyists.

Yeah Debby don't feel bad I was once fooled by The Onion and posted one of their articles on another site. It was so embarrassing .
