Queen Elizabeth Very Unwell

I was nine years old when George VI died. I remember the school assembly when we were told the news. A period of mourning followed and men wore black armbands and the shops were draped in purple and black cloth.

Australia did not have TV in 1952 and we had to rely on radio for news and commentary. We also had newsreels at the picture theatres. We waited several weeks before we could see colour film of the coronation. Not very long after that Elizabeth II made a royal tour of Australia and we all lined up for hours in the sun to see her drive by. My mum was a huge fan of the royal family until the day she died.

This may be the very last picture we'll see of the Queen.. taken 2 days ago..

She looks amazing in this picture. Very sad, but a life well lived, to say the least.

See, I don't agree. I really don't believe William is ready. I think he needs to have a little more time to learn the Trade, at his fathers' side.. and also still have time to spend with his young family..

Only today his 4 year old started school for the first time.. along with his elder brother and sister

If William becomes King with teenagers, especially Louie, life should be interesting.

The Queen is under medical supervision after doctors became concerned for her health this morning, Buckingham Palace revealed today, as the Prince of Wales, Camilla and the Duke of Cambridge to be with the 96-year-old monarch.

Her Majesty's immediate family members have been informed about the downturn, her spokesman said, leading to her two heirs - Charles and William - going to her bedside amid escalating fears for the monarch's wellbeing.

Prince Andrew, Princess Anne and Prince Edward are all expected in Scotland with one of the Royal Family's helicopters landing in the grounds of Her Majesty's Scottish home this morning.

A royal spokesman said: 'Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.'

A statement about the Queen's health is exceptionally rare and suggests the situation is very serious. One insider said: 'This is deeply worrying. The Palace don't normally do this'.

Minutes before the statement, the new Prime Minister Liz Truss was handed a note in the Commons informing her of the development as she was revealing her plans to cap energy bills for the next two years.

Ms Truss said 'the whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime' adding 'my thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time'.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has said the 'prayers of the nation' are with the Queen, the head of the Church of England. 'My prayers, and the prayers of people across the (Church of England) and the nation, are with Her Majesty The Queen today,' Justin Welby tweeted.

'May God's presence strengthen and comfort Her Majesty, her family, and those who are caring for her at Balmoral.'

2 days ago when she had the meeting with the new PM... I said on here that she looked very frail... no-one took me seriously... :(
She has appeared increasingly frail since Phillips passing.
No doubt all the controversy and drama surrounding her immediate family isn't helping.
God Bless her.

This is why I'm thinking she had a stroke or maybe a massive heart attack. Seemingly fine one day, and dead two days later.
Precisely ... I posted this very photo 2 days ago, minutes after she'd met with the New PM to 'create' a governemnt.. and I stated then, that I thought she looked ''cheery but Frail''... it was a shock to me that she'd seemed to have lost a lot of weight in a matter of just weeks, so I knew there was something wrong.. and I'm sure so must have the Palace and the Doctors, so I'm thinking she met with the new PM against Doctors Orders, and may have hastened her own death by days or weeks.. only surmising of course, and whether we'll be told the truth about the reason for her death who knows, but we'll see..

Sometimes people put a particular occasion that they feel they have obligations they must be around for before they go. Christmas, someone arriving, someone’s birthday. Once that happens, they let their body shutdown.

yes perhaps..but I don't believe that when this photo was taken 48 hours ago she had any idea of her imminent death within 2 days... I feel that she would have at least called for her family to go up to Scotland, particualrly Charles and Anne..
