I politely disagree with a number of you here. I like you all, but have different beliefs on this subject.

I believe in adoption, not abortion. Sorry, that's me!

I do not comdemn all these baby killers who decide to abort. It's their lives and their unborn babies lives. But, murder is murder, and in my religion, it's a sin, no matter how much you romanticize it with "it's my body, I'll do whatever I want to do with it!"
We have become such a selfish society that we don't care anymore about these babies that, if given a choice, would probably want to live. Isn't life precious? I think it is.

Those who believe in abortions - Aren't you glad your parents didn't abort you?!!! I am proud of all the parents that decided to keep their babies.

I know I will get a lot of negative comments because of my views, but this is a free country, and I can speak up just like everyone else, and I apologize if I stepped on any toes, but no one can sway my decision, Yes, babies with disabilities have been born. My one sister is such a person. That does not make them less human. They have a right to live just like everyone else. Why abort a fetus if it's NOT PERFECT? Who are we to judge who gets to live and who doesn't?

On a personal basis, having adopted, I am one glad parent that the biological mother did not abort but gave me and my husband a chance to give my son a life. He has been the best blessing I've ever experienced.
We are all God's children. People make mistakes and have children out of wedlock. But why do the children have to pay for their mistakes? ADOPT NOT ABORT!

I might not reply if you reply to me. I just wanted to get this off my chest.
@palides2021 I respect your opinion. I consider you an accomplished and principled person, and I appreciate your loyalty to your faith. If there were more people like you who chose to adopt, we would most likely not be discussing this issue. However, there are not enough parents who are willing to adopt to make up for the effects of this recent ruling.

There may be many White parents who are unwilling to adopt children of color. Here are some recent statistics re: abortions among Black women. These are the women that will be most affected by this ruling because many of them won't have the means to travel to another state, nor the means to appropriately care for their children.

I absolutely agree with your "adopt not abort" point of view, but unfortunately that isn't the reality for many of these unwanted children. Much respect!

What problem? Abortion has been handed to individual states, as it should be the individual state's decision on such matters.

The problem is that many women would disagree with this statement. They believe that this is a matter that should be the woman's decision, in consultation with her doctor and that it should be a private matter. They do not believe that the state has any role in the matter.

i find it odd that with all the sex ed in school and the access to information at a fingertip.....
Some women today seem perplexed or confused as to where babies come from..... did she have sex?....
was she taking precautions / pills?... yes there is a failure element .....
when was her last period.....?
women in time of "little house on the prairie" 1800s knew .... but these girls seem surprised?

Only about 1 % is rape/ incest cases of abortions performed .....
so the other 99% must know they were not dancing too close or sitting on a public toilet......... LMAO
these morning after pills and chemical abortions are going to mess up a woman's cycle even more ...
as many claim they do not have regular periods etc.
why are they not seeking diagnosis in case of cancer etc then.?................
missed periods or unusual cycles can symptoms of OTHER conditions as well as including pregnancy .....

The claim they had no idea is another deflect blame....
with all the items one can look up these girls have more info that many women had in the 1950s........... but act clueless. ........ because playing dumb works.
Some states have/had abortion rights laws that only applied to the very earliest stages of pregnancy. For young girls, it may not be enough time to know they are pregnant. They hope they are just late or that "it will go away." Most are hesitant to disclose to parents that they are sexually active, let alone the possibility of pregnancy. The end result, I fear, is going to be far more children giving birth to children. It's a lose-lose scenario.

There's been some confusion here about NY's abortion laws. It turns out, abortion in NY is legal. Period. There is no penalty for aborting a fetus. I'm pretty sure you can't kill your baby after it's born, though.

New York removed abortion from its Penal Code. No one can be held criminally liable for aborting a fetus, even after the 24th week of pregnancy.

And as we now know, being raised in an orphanage or with a series of foster parents is not always beneficial to the child in terms of child abuse, including sexual abuse.

You don't need to apologize for your opinion. You are entitled to it. Although mine differs, I have to admit that learning of New York's law allowing abortion up to 6 months upsets me. Different opinions broaden perspective.

They'll get to it soon enough, they want to turn back the clock to the good ol' days of no rights for women or people of color.
An uncalled for conclusion. The SC is charged with interpreting the meaning of the Constitution. Their concern for "rights" should be limited to, and is a product of, rights as defined by the Constitution. In this case it was their decision that the Constitution granted states the right and obligation to define this issue, not the federal government. If the duty of the SC was to simply do what they thought was "right" without regard to law or the Constitution, we would find ourselves ruled by nine judges. The way to deal with this is to either amend the Constitution, or those in states not supportive of abortion should get to work on those miscreant state legislators to either change the law or find a new occupation.

sorry dont feed me or others this "legal" BS.
i dont GAFH what "legal" has to say since "legal" is mostly old white men.

they dont impress me --or others---nor do they have Any validity any longer.
new world fellas, filled with MORE starving children and women, less water less forest less shade less food.

meanwhile you rich white guys suck up all the dinero and spray your "seed" all over.
go. away. SHUT UP.

you have NO idea what it means what it takes to be preg to raise and feed a birth til its age of...what?...
future starvation?....loss of life?...

you do not have a clue.
do not any longer expect women to save you your butts or your seeds.

not gonna happen.

"It means some people will have to not only pay for abortions but also pay to travel to those states that still allow a woman rights to her own body "

Think of it this way.

If a woman wants an abortion, it tells me that the pregnancy was a mistake ? Why should anyone else pay for that mistake ?

I know there are exceptions ...... Rape..... forced incest etc. I hope that in those situations it would still be allowed. But I believe those are rare ?? But again, those should be dealt with differently.
If someone wants to pay for a woman's abortion, that's their right. Money is speech, so it's a protected right.

One thing I have always wondered about. We have all seen a woman with a blouse that said "BABY" with an arrow pointing down. Obviously she is very happy.
On the other hand, when women support abortions, that "baby' suddenly becomes a FETUS.
So which is it ? A baby ? A fetus ?

"New York

New York state passed a law in 2019 to preserve access to abortions in the event that Roe v. Wade was struck down. Under the statute, abortions can be legally performed up to 24 weeks into a pregnancy for any reason and can be performed after that if the fetus is no longer viable or the patient's life or health is at risk.
The 2019 law also removed abortion from the state's criminal code, shielding medical providers from being criminally prosecuted for providing an abortion."

Why would a pregnant woman wear a blouse that said "BABY?" So people wouldn't think she was fat? 🤣

An obvious question from a misogynist who baits women. What do you cook up, Senior Chef? Hate? I can't hate you in return because ignorant, pathetic people are meant to be pitied. Poor, pathetic, misinformed soul.
