Yep, the radicals on the SCOTUS overturned a 50 year precedent with the overturning of R v W and a 100 year precedent with the overturning of the NY gun laws. During their hearings they claimed they'd respect precedent. Obviously, they lied.
 

im stunned by this too.

this country has more ammo than any place on the planet and now it puts women back into slavery
positions having to raise and pay for lives of entities they did not want to begin with...to what, become targets?

how many birth control devices failed women and left them then to pay costs of raising a kid
they didnt want to begin with. they tried to prevent it but a seed got in them..somehow.
who is putting those seeds in there???

im further convinced the RW is and has been doing these shocking things the last 6ish years to Distract
from failing environments they are now incapable of fixing repairing or sustaining.
CA will run out of water this summer. no drinking water. anyone noticing??

instead we have a "supreme" situation which ignores that and demands women slaves breed more human slaves.

in this RvW situation the diff is....males plant the seeds women have to bear to fruition.

id stay away from the seeds if i were that age.

Many states will ban abortions outright, however many states will allow it. It means some people will have to not only pay for abortions but also pay to travel to those states that still allow a woman her rights to her own body.
 
At least Alito gave the people of the U.S. warning (or somebody did, anyway) with the leak of the first draft. Some people protested, but it was a pretty mild response. That could be because today's ruling only affects poor people. The middle and upper classes can travel to other states for abortions, but the working poor can't take time off even if someone helps them travel. This is going to result in more children growing up on welfare and in abusive homes. It's going to mean more crime and violence.

Crime rates in the U.S. had been declining since 1992. In 2014, crime rates started trending upwards. Why the decline and then the uptick?
  • Some say the decline was due to women's access to abortion in the '70s. They weren't having children they couldn't take care of beginning in the '70s, so by the '90s, there weren't as many abused children coming of age and committing crimes.
  • There was also the rise of the prison industrial complex that made it profitable to incarcerate more people. Criminals were taken off the streets — thus, less crime.
  • There was also the ubiquity of surveillance cameras with the advances in technology so criminals were far less likely to get away with crimes.
Why the upward trend beginning in 2014?

I'll need to research that. Anyone else feel free to speculate. I have to run some errands now.

Think of it this way.

If a woman wants an abortion, it tells me that the pregnancy was a mistake ? Why should anyone else pay for that mistake ?

I know there are exceptions ...... Rape..... forced incest etc. I hope that in those situations it would still be allowed. But I believe those are rare ?? But again, those should be dealt with differently.

Both precedents were flawed in the first place. Now each state can take it from there and legislate as each deems fit.

A few weeks back, I heard something like that on a news blurb ....

Are they actually "killing" the baby after it is born and out of the womb ??

Isn't that out&out murder ?

Are we sure .... for certain sure , that this actually happens ?

I'm actually rather shocked at NY's 24 week maximum, except for health reasons. It seems like they cut it as close as possible to the viability threshold.

Sadly in some cases that male is long gone. I worked with a young woman who got pregnant. She had a supportive mother but her mother had also started having kids very young. She told me the male just told her "it's not mine" disappeared out of her life and she had the kid.

Who is "they" and why did they have to examine her for pregnancy before announcing him dead? Plenty of women have lost spouses while pregnant and never had to be tested before being told their spouse has died.

I may have not explained it clearly. The fire department had to check her before they could pronounce her husband dead, it was protocol. I guess it was to make sure the baby would be covered by his salary and benefits from his job.

i find it odd that with all the sex ed in school and the access to information at a fingertip.....
Some women today seem perplexed or confused as to where babies come from..... did she have sex?....
was she taking precautions / pills?... yes there is a failure element .....
when was her last period.....?
women in time of "little house on the prairie" 1800s knew .... but these girls seem surprised?

Only about 1 % is rape/ incest cases of abortions performed .....
so the other 99% must know they were not dancing too close or sitting on a public toilet......... LMAO
these morning after pills and chemical abortions are going to mess up a woman's cycle even more ...
as many claim they do not have regular periods etc.
why are they not seeking diagnosis in case of cancer etc then.?................
missed periods or unusual cycles can symptoms of OTHER conditions as well as including pregnancy .....

The claim they had no idea is another deflect blame....
with all the items one can look up these girls have more info that many women had in the 1950s........... but act clueless. ........ because playing dumb works.
 
Does anyone know if rape pregnancies are included in the over15 week abortion ban? Or can a woman get an abortion after 15 weeks because of rape? It seems like a woman has no control anymore...getting raped first of all, then being forced to carry a rape baby to term.

I can see a lot of babies being left on firehouse doorsteps now.

Some will be coming to the state of Colorado, where rights of women are still alive and well. Less expensive trip for them, I wish them all well during these trying times.
