This woman got everything she deserved, in my opinion. I'm only happy that in this case they did not euthanize the innocent animal. :rolleyes:

 

Ditto, SeaBreeze! & I also have a problem with neglectful parents letting their kids climb fences at animal exhibits, fall in & freak out when the animal comes to investigate.

She was on the news tonite saying the zoo should have had bigger barriers so people wouldn't be tempted to climb over them. Right, can't fix stupid. "Hey, it wasn't my fault I wanted to take the nice kitty's picture" .
 
A few years back I happened to meet a gentleman from Britain who actually sold them, & his pronunciation was Jag-u-ah.

The commercials for Jag's, in the states, do pronounce the car name as jag-u-ar. But, I, and probably every other American, were brought up to have the 'incorrect' pronunciation (jag-warr) of both the animal and the car. Just one of endless dialectical changes for better or worse.
 
Stupid people get no sympathy rom me. There was a story not long ago about a lion killing a woman in the back seat of a car. How did it happen? She left the window down and the lion simply stuck his head in the car and chewed on her head.

Actually she did not climb over the barrier, leaned over it and she said (and others agree) the barrier is too close to the fence containing the animal. This occurred in Phoenix and I live here so we had tons of TV stories about it. I blame her for being stupid but not as stupid as some of the out of town articles would have you believe. BTW The barrier IS TOO CLOSE to the fence.
 
Back in the 60s I was dating a girl whose father was an engineer for Ford. He shared the following story. A group of people from an ad agency and Ford were filming a commercial for the new Mercury Cougar that involved the use of a "tame" cat. The went for lunch and left the cougar locked in the car. Upon their return, the interior of the car was totally shredded.

Foolishness is not a 21st century invention. :eek:hwell:

OK fine, but then you don't add to the danger by leaning over an already closer fence.

"The barrier IS TOO CLOSE to the fence."......OK again, then she/we should stay even further away.......She & she alone is responsible for her injuries.

She didn't lean over the fence, she leaned over the barrier but the fence is within 3' of the barrier. In any event it ended well for her and the cat. The zoo is talking about moving the barrier further from the fence'
