OMG, I think I've heard it all now...

Regardless of anyone's views on breastfeeding in public this is an absolutely shocking thing to have occurred ( if indeed it's true) to any mother regardless of where she was ...

quote''...
A security guard allegedly ordered a mother to stop feeding her daughter in Primark before tearing the child off the breast saying: 'If you want your baby back, follow me.'
Mother-of-four Caroline Starmer, 28, says she was feeding nine-month-old Paige behind a mannequin in the Leicester store when the worker forced her to stop.
The unnamed man ordered her to leave but when she refused, Caroline, who also had Paige's twin sister Freya with her in a pushchair, forcibly tore the screaming child off her breast.

Caroline managed to chase after him and wrestled Paige out of his arms before leaving the store and reporting the incident to Leicestershire Police.

Mrs Starmer said: 'I was completely shocked, one minute I was feeding Paige in a discreet area of the store and suddenly I was being challenged by a security guard and he was walking off with my baby.
'He said to me "you can't do that here, you will have to vacate the premises".
'When I tried to explain my daughter needed feeding and it was my right to breastfeed wherever I wanted he just ripped Paige off my breast.

This is outrageous. He should be fired immediately. Regardless of what they now state is their "policy", the mother should sue the store. He acted as their employee. In the U.S., there would also be grounds for criminal action. The U.K. police aren't at least questioning him?!

Kidnapping is a VERY serious crime and this is EXACTLY what happened, and this idiot "security" guard should be charged
and convicted of this heinous crime.

Our police do carry guns, but not as a matter of routine..

Yeah, I've never been quite clear as to when exactly they DO bring them out. After they actually SEE someone with a gun? After someone's been shot?

You have to realize that, as an American, this has always been a very foreign concept for me ... we're brought up teething on guns. :p

The property owner says they can't find anything on video, just saying. She needs to file kidnapping and/or assault charges with police and let them investigate and subpoena all the video.

A woman who told national media a Primark security guard had removed her baby from her breast as she fed has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
Caroline Starmer, 28, who has four children, claimed on Facebook and later in the press that the incident happened in the Primark store in Leicester as she attempted to feed her nine-month-old daughter, Paige.
Her account of events was denied by the retailer and CCTV footage was given to police, who were investigating an allegation of assault.

Yep I must admit I was a little suspicious about the story when I read it which is why I wrote ''allegedly'' in the title.....but I'm pleased to hear it didn't happen after all. I suspect her excuse may be post natal depression...which she may be suffering from of course given that she has twins aged just 9 months...but I'm sorry for the poor security guard who may have been accused unjustly. ..not only by her but by the outraged public and the media who immediately and naturally jumped to her defence..

Nothing to do with post natal depression, she lied in the hope of making money.

A mother who falsely claimed a Primark security guard snatched her baby from her while she was breastfeeding has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Caroline Starmer's lies made national headlines, but she was charged by police after Primark checked the CCTV from the Leicester store.
The 28-year-old admitted intending to pervert the course of justice at a previous court hearing.
She was given an eight-month sentence, suspended for two years.

Starmer, of Marshall Street, Leicester, made the false allegation on the Facebook page of a campaign group called Free to Feed, which supports breastfeeding in public.
She was also interviewed by the Leicester Mercury and the story was then picked up by the national press.
Starmer's defence said she lied because an unnamed friend persuaded her to do it to make money.

Falcon, there are newspapers and then there are newspapers if you know what I mean and some in the U.K. are only fit for the brick outhouse.
