I fully, whole-heartedly agree with you.I'm not even going to join this discussion. I am presently watching a DVD series on Joseph Stalin and how he murdered millions of his people. It just amazes me how people, like sheep, follow some leader. They followed Adolf Hitler, they followed Benito Mussolini and countless other madmen.
So, it's very easy for people to follow certain religions, claim they are right and they are going to heaven while everyone else who thinks differently is going to hell.

Oh. My. God. How utterly evil. And what a beautiful young woman she was. My heart goes out to you and your family.Scientology brings back very heartbreaking memories to me. Over 20yrs ago my cousin donated $20,000 to Scientology to help her commit suicide. Her husband had left her for another woman. So with the help of a Scientologist, he went to her house and helped her commit suicide. He showed her exactly how to hang herself and which way to place her body that was supposed to bring her back to a better life. She did it 3 days before Valentine's day to make sure her husband would send her flowers for Valentine's day. The neighbors saw the Scientologists car parked outside her house the whole day she did it. I have been thinking of her a lot today with February coming up. This is her picture.

No. Her Mom my Aunt thought what good would it do? It would never bring her back again. Was he charged and/or prosecuted?
And it's unlikely he would be convicted, or even charged. If he was charged, his attorney will say "He went to her house to talk her out of suicide. It's not his fault she did it anyway."No. Her Mom my Aunt thought what good would it do? It would never bring her back again.

Leah Remini is a woman on a mission, for sure. I've read her books and they have a strong ring of truth.“The King of Queens” star has been on a mission to call attention to what she describes as the church’s wrongdoings since she left it in 2013.

Have to say most of my thoughts on this subject are not very "respectful" or "civil".Church of Scientology. A respectful, civil, sharing of thoughts.
One of many reasons. @Sassycakes sorry to hear about your cousin, an awful thing that likely would not have happened without the Scientologists...Scientology brings back very heartbreaking memories to me.
Since 9/11 nobody is permitted in airports unless they have business there. Hare Krishnas seem to have generally faded from the landscape. Rarely see them anymore.Whatever happened to the Hare Krishnas that used to hang around airports and elsewhere?
Whatever happened to the Hare Krishnas
Wouldn't be Baptist by any chance? I tried going to a Baptist church when I first moved to Kentucky and one Sunday the pastor was talking about the upcoming church picnic. He announced that all the females were expected to dress "appropriately", no shorts or pants were allowed. I guessed that meant all the ladies had to wear a dress to a picnic. I never went to the picnic and never went back to that church.Sounds like most of the christians here in my area. I have been shunned for wearing shorts and pants.
For a number of years, L. Ron Hubbard lived on a ship. Maybe that photo is the same one.I don't know much about Scientology other than my general feelings about them matchs most of the comments already posted.
Here's a Church of Scientology oddity I did witnessed myself. They own** a small cruise ship called 'Freewinds'

It's home port is Curacao, southern Caribbean. I noticed it docked as I sat in an outdoor bar last winter and noticed some strange activity on board. There were maybe 15-20 people running from place to place on one of the decks. At first I thought it might be some kind of scavenger hunt, the way that they all ran from place to place as one group but then I noticed they appeared to be cleaning very intensely with cloths or rags of some kind. I didn't know who the ship belonged to so I googled the name later and sure enough, it showed the ship is used exclusively by the Church of Scientology.
I wondered if those people on board were allowed to come & go freely or not?
(** Freewinds is owned by San Donato Properties, a company affiliated with, and controlled by, the Church of Scientology)
Seriously? He must've been quite an individual. For a number of years, L. Ron Hubbard lived on a ship. Maybe that photo is the same one.
Why? 'cause he lived on a ship? Quite a huckster, IMOSeriously? He must've been quite an individual.
