From the stuff of stars to the atom, from meteor ash to dust, we're here then we're gone like a fart in the wind.From the womb into this life, and from the close of this life into the next, each passage a quiet beginning, each ending a doorway to something more.
I plan to be immortal, so far so good.I ain't goin', Mitch, and you shouldn't either.
Just say no, --Nancy Reagan
Let it be so.I plan to be immortal, so far so good.
That number doesn't seem right to me Mitch. My neighbor lived to 102, my aunt lived to 101, I have several neighbors and friends in their late 90's. There are men in our local military honor guard as old as 97, still doing the funeral services.I'm 91 years old and my own ending is approaching. Only 1 out of 8,000 lives to age 100. Thus, at 91 I'm getting close to my own ending. Medicine has never been able to find a Fountain of Youth so I must simply ACCEPT the coming end for me.
Now I'm wondering (again) if this is a typo or deliberate spelling.For my wife and me will be what happens after our last breath the most exiting journey ever.
You are completely right. Sometimes I'm looking for the right word, but don't just find it and in my case always errors occur.Now I'm wondering (again) if this is a typo or deliberate spelling.
Exiting is technically correct but some may find it exciting too.
@George1959
Am I correct in guessing that English is not your first language?
Depends on what you mean. Exciting is yaaaay aufregend and exiting is verlassend.You are completely right. Sometimes I'm looking for the right word, but don't just find it and in my case always errors occur.
I am German and my last English lessons at senior high school were in the late 1970s.
Btw. which word(s) could I use instead of exiting?

@RambleTamble: and why do you think that's funny??'The level I intended'?![]()
I'm not in a hurry to die, but the older I get I become more excepting of the inevitable. I personally believe life goes on in some form after death. If I'm wrong what will it have mattered because I will have no concept of this present life and therefore will not miss anythingThis sounds rather dumb or smart-alec, but is there something wrong with death? Really! What's wrong with it?
Me too. When I was much younger the thought of being dead had a terrifying aspect to it. As I got older, starting somewhere in my 50s, the fear lessened and over the following years, it disappeared. I should think it would be the opposite of that, but it's not. I've wondered about that and have come up with some not very strong explanations, but I don't have a driving need to explain it fully. I've had a very good life, and in spite of ups and downs, I've accomplished my most important goals.I'm not in a hurry to die, but the older I get I become more excepting of the inevitable.
Are you ok old man?You mean that someday I’m going to die? I wish you wouldn’t have told me.
Now I have something else to worry about. (sigh)
I think this thread just turned into a suicide watch.
