A group of archaeologists decides to investigate the history of communication in the United States. They start digging in New York and, after digging down 10 feet, they find traces of copper wire. They conclude that New York had a sophisticated telephone system over 100 years ago.
Next, they dig in California. At 20 feet, they find traces of fiber optics. They conclude that California had advanced digital communications technology over 200 years ago.
Then, they dig in Alabama. After digging down 30 feet, they find absolutely nothing. The archaeologists in Alabama proudly conclude:
“Over 300 years ago, Alabama went completely wireless!”
