Weight Loss Accountability/Support Group Thread

200 lbs even this morning.
Congratulations, you’re holding the line!!!

I wish that I could say the same but winter is always a real struggle for me.

Maybe a food diary or logging app would help you to identify a few simple swaps that could help to chip away at 1/2-1 lb a week.

Slow and steady wins the race! 🐢

I have kept a food diary for years now, mostly because of my diabetes, although I did use to have some weight struggles. Very helpful to see patterns. I have 'brittle' diabetes, which makes it hard to establish patterns, but it still helps for me to see when & what I eat.

Just discovered this thread. I didn’t read all 15 pages of it, so I may be fuzzy on the protocol, but it seems like there are no hard and fast rules about what to post, stats to share etc. we are just being accountable to each other in whatever way(s) work for each of us?

That's what I've experienced. :)

Aldis is selling Activity Tracker Watches for 4.99 if you want something simple to track your steps. I got DH and I one. I've walked 63 steps this morning cleaning out the dishwasher and making coffee! 🏃🏼‍♀️

A lot of smart phones have on-board pedometers if that’s relevant to anyone here.

There are also many free pedometer apps you can download. I have a very simple one for my iPhone. You pay for the premium version, but the free version is all I need.

DH told me that. Not sure how the phone works unless you have it on you all the time.

After five months of strict 1000 calorie a day dieting I decided to give myself a week off. I gained 7 pounds in seven days. That's about what I lose in seven weeks of dieting.

Yes. Any pedometer whether it’s a stand alone one or a smart phone app can only track your movement when it’s on you, so it’s your phone in your pocket (me) or a device that’s strapped on your wrist or hangs around your neck.

Pregnancy weight?    First pregnancy: started at 138 ended up at 168. Second pregnancy started at 138 ended up at 176. Third pregnancy started at 140 ended up at 196. Fourth pregnancy: started at 144 ended up at 214.

Once I am pregnant and can't fit in my clothes and switch to those maternity stretchy clothes: there are no boundaries and who cares?

It always took me about 9 months to lose ALL of each pregnancy weight gain. Pure willpower and determination.

I have lost the need for sweets. And I have a hard time eating raw fruit. So I focus on what both of us like and portions. Portions seems to be the key. SO joined me and is about 30 down in a year. Full breakfast, cashews, small lunch, pop corn, nibbles and wine and small dinner.

200 lbs even this morning. But I had Pizza today so I'm not so confident about tomorrow.
