What are you doing today 2023

still going to be hot today but not as bad as yesterday.going to ride my bike on bike trail today because I need to get off my lazy air conditioned butt and get moving !

Today might be a little cooler than yesterday. So I am going to make sure I get a walk to the park in. Going to sit in the sun as long as I can stand it. I need it! I usually take my shower first thing but understand that you shouldn't put anything on your skin before going in the sun if you want to absorb vitamin D. So I think I will try doing it that way instead........I think. Not sure because it is hard for me to change my routines. I can take the shower and just not apply my lotions until after I come back....but then my skin will be hot and maybe sweaty.

If I were you Kat..I;d take the shower anyway.. and put your lotions on your face, but not sunscreen.. if you leave your arms clear of lotion you will absorb enough Vit D from the sun in about 15 -20 minutes.... what you could also do is take a sunscreen stick with you, so after the alloted time you could use the stick sunscreen on your nose and lips...

Without meaning to, I set the coffee last night to turn on at my regular getting-up hour on a work day. In this case, it wasn't wake up and smell the coffee, it was smell the coffee and wake up. Two-hour old coffee doesn't taste good. See what happens when a creature of habit has to rearrange their schedule?

At least so far it feels like Sunday. DD and I are going Walmarting today, and I'm hoping she's willing to go well before noon while people are still in church and before the promised rain starts.

Still thinking about whether I want to be bothered with the Battle of the Weeds. If it really does rain, that would be my excuse for not getting out there. Heck, it's a losing battle...

Ive had a busy morning cleaning , Dog needed to go out till gone two am, just restless , think she had bloat , she was trying to make herself sick ,and burping alot ,, I was up and down like a yoyo, I was glad when she finally settled ..

its a nice sunny day here but noisey with someone drilling and hammering , guess they only got Sunday to work on it , I saw some wood piled up in the garden , well im guessing it could be raised beds ..

The house opposite is sold again , I wonder if it will stay sold this time , they must be sure cause the for sale sign as been taken down ..

Ive sat out on my new Chair and its comfy and in a cooler position to my Bench . I have some seeds growing for next years planting , pleased they took easily .. Also I took seeds from my Lavatera last year and now ive got the makings of a shrub ,

My walk will be later in the day , not sure where yet ..

Oh and I got stung by a bee yesterday while getting it out the green house .

Have a nice day all .

On my early morning walk at 6:15 went to buy local paper, temp was a refreshing 54,came back to water plants/flowers in our garden
This morning will be walking to my church for our 10:30 service,Tom Yorty who retired last June after 23 yrs as our minister will be preaching. After worship his portrait will be unveiled in our library I'm hoping for a good turnout I've been friends with Tom&his family over the years, enjoyed seeing a different side to him whenever he or his wife, Carol invited me over for dinner usually at Easter or Thanksgiving. One of the highlights for me was getting invitation to his eldest son, Ian's wedding in 2010 in CT,a fun weekend got to meet his family/ close friends he had mentioned in his sermons The last time I saw Tom&Carol was at their house last July, I've stayed in contact with them
The rest of my day will be talking with my brother ,read the local paper,my book

The visit yesterday with son/grandson/toys really lifted Buffy's spirit! All the love and affection she has received has elongated her life, I'm sure.

Today I'm in a desperate laundry situation---It Must Be Done! Dishes, too.

I'm changing. I'm so happy & grateful for the smallest of things, which is good as my life has become so much smaller. I don't feel resentment anymore. Been doing a ton of work on myself, and I'm seeing results.

A bit of tidying up in the garden this morning and got the sprinkler watering the vegetables. It was dull at first, but sunny and warm now. We've got the second clothes wash ready to go out, so I'll do that shortly. Just has a prawn salad for lunch and I'm planning to cook a venison bourguignon for dinner. Apart from that, a lazy afternoon is in order.

So I'm gonna try the Irish Spring method of discouraging squirrels in the flower gardens. Supposedly, they despise the smell and won't go anywhere near areas where it's used. I'm gonna put shavings all around the base of the bird feeder. Mr. Google says it doesn't harm the birds. There's just one thing, and that is that when it rains or when I water, there will be a garden full of soap bubbles I think. This could be interesting...stay tuned.

It is almost 7 am this morning and I have been up since 4 am. I had a weird dream about a woman I was friendly with for years and then a few years ago we stopped being friends. I looked her up and wasn't having any luck. I just wonder why I thought of her after all this time.

Oddly enough the same dream happened to me a few nights ago.
My dream was in an office I worked in many years ago . She had the desk next to me and we were discussing our work.
I rembered it quite clearly.
We were friendly but never really socialized
Dream or a memory.....

I will change the bed sheets which is my usual Sunday chore. Need to plan next week’s meals so I can get a grocery list together. Will go online and pay the remaining monthly bills. Was thinking about running the car through the carwash but rain is predicted for later today and off and on for most of next week so that might be a lost cause - although I do have a subscription with the carwash that allows me to wash the car once per day so maybe not. I do plan to clean my teak shower bench. Not sure how big an ordeal that will be but I do have the spray on cleaner and conditioner which should make it easier.

The hummingbird nest appears to be now much flatter. Did mom modify it to give the growing chick more space? Being 3 weeks old, the chick is already practicing its wings and moving around a lot. I am afraid it might fall out of its tiny nest. According to what I read on Internet, chicks leave the nest after 3 weeks, so...? But mom is still feeding it. Because I see a green feather, it's probably a male. When mom started buzzing me, then I quickly left. And I really should get a better pocket camera, one that shoots faster and sharper.

@katlupe That‘s a good idea.

Hauling 15 big boxes of books back down to the basement after no one stopped at my books sale.
Leave them in the garage. High grade them all down to a couple of boxes. Put 2 or 3 at a time in the car and take them to a donation centre the next time you’re out

It's been about three hours since I put the Irish Spring shavings in the garden around the bird feeder. When I fill the feeder, it takes about 30 minutes for the squirrels to show up. So far, the birds are back but not a squirrel in sight.

I also rubbed the soap around the edges of the flower pots that they won't stay away from.

Fingers crossed!🤞
