What are you doing today 2023

Yes, wasn't it just! Nice vehicles collection. Yesterday morning was so hot indoor that no matter how much I tried to use the remote or main button on TV box, it just wouldn't budge.

Unplugged waited 120 seconds. Passed a wet cool cloth on the box, dried it and tried again. Bingo! When I told company about it, they weren't surprised as other customers had called regarding that. Apparently, I did what was recommended. Pat on the back lol!
lol..I don't think you had 90 degrees up there in Scotland...:D

Extra things done today... Opened outdoor storage and handled one heavy storage box. Clearing screws, nails, old drawer handles and dozen upon dozen of wooden rings for curtain poles we no longer have.

Can't wait to see the look on charity shops guy's faces. DIY free stuff lol!

We'll tackle one box daily until all done. First box is a quarter the weight it was before.

Watched all HP and FBWTFT and having a laugh watching Ghostbusters. Finally, this week, going to pick up paint to tackle fence, storage doors and window frames. The ceiling is worrisome as I'll have to regain balance to scrape peeling paint off of ceiling portion. Yikes!
don't risk going on ladders to scrape the ceiling... use a tool like a Hoe so you can stand on the ground. You can get extendible tools to scrape the ceiling...like these.. at just a few pounds

Previously I mentioned that we have been at The Shake & Stir Festival for most of this weekend. The outfits that we wore had many a compliment and a request for a photograph. None more so than the local newspaper. Mr. & Mrs. H/C

Hello, everyone. I am hanging in here, (by a thread?)
That's Not too bad if it is by an SF thread.

Thank you, to each one of you,
who think of me. (and my DH)
I appreciate being thought of!

I cannot read any posts tonight, other than the 2 that I did, but once again, it feels good to just drop by for a few minutes.

Thanks Holly, much appreciated. It saddens me though that when the newspaper gives readers a chance to comment all they get are either negative remarks or vitriol. It conjures up an image of a lonely person, unable to interact, sitting in front of a screen, getting kicks out of the reaction to their insults.

Rude comments are not confined to our country either, check out any website that gives the reader an opportunity to comment, it seems globally endemic that insults far outnumber any complimentary remarks.

70 years ago today I, along with sister & parents of course, moved into this apartment that I reside in. Four people. One survives. I won the tontine. That is my pitiful attempt at gallows humor.

Big day for me symbolically. Overwhelming even. Hmmm. Might cry. Maybe not.

70 years of memories. The place is the same, the time is different. So much has occurred within these walls

That's what trolls get their jollies from doing... I've even seen a pic of an adorable child on social media and the nasty troll comments were things like "what's wrong with the kid's face?" and "will she grow out of it?" It seems to be a game with them. Anyhow, they're all over the world and 'Net spewing their trashy mouths... and we need some troll repellent spray created.

Anyhow, you and "Lady H/C" look absolutely stunning in the photo! @horseless carriage

I know and exactly the same happens on the internet.. even this forum. Weak, insidious friendless cowardly , people making their sarcastic comments, and their little attacks hidden behind a screen, feeling empowered because they're behind a screen, when in fact in real life they would be too terrified to say these things to a person to their face

At 9:30 am my son will be picking me up and we will have a family day at The Bronx Zoo! When I was very young my parents took me & sister there almost every week. The last time I was there, my son was about 3, so that was forty years ago. Forty years ago we went with my sister, her kids, hub & my mom.

Bronx Park/Zoo has always been a very special place for me. Have no idea what I will see; I'm sure in 40 years changes have been made. One of the first zoos to let animals roam in huge open spaces as opposed to only cages.

When I was little, my sister had two pet llamas, no kidding! Whenever she would approach, they would immediately go to her, get up close, get petted. I forgot their given names.

Looking forward to today.
I loved going there when my son was little! I have a picture of him riding on an elephant and a camel. He was scared to death! My first husband was from the Bronx and his father had a liquor store there so we used to stop there on our way out to Oceanside where his parents had moved to. Hope you had a great time!

Today I am not sure what is happening. My new aide is supposed to come at eleven. Will she show up? Have no idea since she didn't come last week. This time I have a list of stuff for her to do and I will just keep her working. One thing after another.

Yesterday it was 87 when Sonny took me to the store in his too small truck. Air conditioning is not working. It was hot and my feet swell and turn red if I get hot. I survived somehow. It poured after I got home but no thunder and lightning, though Sonny had that at his house 25 miles away.

Pepper, wow, 70 years. May your day hold both smiles at the memories and ok if a few tears also.

Today the temps are down into the 70's...thanks Goodness... but unfortunately it's also overcast and is supposed to be like this most of the week. Inside my house is not cool at all... I'm looking at the temp now and it's 25.8 c...78 F...in the house, right next to an open window.

I don't have any plans for today. I've just made and eaten Pancakes for Brunch ..only little thin ones... I'm trying to lose a bit of weight.. and I think I've succeeded in the last couple of weeks. I haven't weighed myself, ( don't want to get depressed) I'm just going by the look of my face... and the feel of my clothes. Just a small difference but it's going in the right direction.

I don't know how long I'll be there ,Marcia suggested I bring my lunch. The past couple times when I've brought my lunch, I give Tage a couple pieces of the baby carrots I enjoy eating.
