Ready to go to rehab therapy for my leg.
I may have missed this but you should have been in therapy for awhile. If you are just starting it may be hard on your recovery. I was on my feet the day of a hip replacement. I hear knees are much harder. @Alligatorob is about a year out and maybe able to give you good advice.

Lee, what's the curtain thingies..?.. is it for inside your hom..or what ?.. have you looked to see if there's a Youtube video showing how to do it ?... I completely understand your frustration... 🤗
Holly, when I don't know the proper name for anything then "thingies" works. I know what to do with them but have lost some strength in my hand due to minor nerve damage after surgery. Cannot get the screw into the oak hardwood. But I am going to attack this another way, get an ice pick, hammer it in a little to start the hole. Then try screwing it in again. Will let you know tomorrow.

My son and I were told days ago there will be a memorial service in house for my sister. Today my brother-in-law calls. His youngest son, the father of two children I never met, will not be there as he is too nuts to come. His eldest son, same: 2 kids I never met. Nuts. This one is one of the greatest loves of my life.

My BIL acting like they didn't dump me for 20 years. I promised to go, I don't want to. My son may need the closure; I'm just disgusted. How I suffered over 20 years of their absence. The hell I paid; the hell they still can provide.

I want to throw up.

You are going to need a drill and these little plastic things to put in the holes so the screws will have a good strong base to hold them in. That I learned from my husband. If you go to the hardware store they can teach you all about this. There is also a thing called toggle bolts you can put in to give more stability for what you are trying to put up.

@Pepper I understand completely. I'm in the same sort of boat right now over an estranged grandchild. Her funeral was yesterday, but I didn't go because I'd have been about as welcome as a turd in a punchbowl. The hurt runs very, very deep, and AFAIK the estrangement had nothing to do with me. I'm trying very hard to keep the memories away, even the good ones.

It's only 90 so far (feels like 93). The lawn has been mowed. Yay me.

Families can be the best or they can be the worst huh? So sorry @Georgiagranny and @Pepper

If you really don't want to go .. don't go. It's not kosher for others to dictate to you.
🤗

NO, No, No, I will not be kept from honoring those I love even if they don't love me. They will just have to call 911 and have me dragged out.

My younger-middle son's birthday was this month and he always asks for the same thing, "A pot of your homemade spaghetti sauce," which is a compliment but he's 30-something now, so I made a deal with him. I'd make the spaghetti one more time and teach him how, then he's responsible for his own sauce.

Spaghetti sauce cooling now, he was an attentive student, chopped and stirred at my direction. One thing I can check off my list =)

How are you feeling now CS ? I know you've been pretty poorly since returning from your trip

Yanno what really grates my cheese? When nothing I do will change the TV channel, can't choose a darned thing, can't even raise or lower the volume. Changed the batteries. Nope. Soooo frustrating.

Until I realize after about 10 minutes that the mouse only works for the computer.

The remote is what is used to maneuver the TV.

I've done this how many times??? Duh.

It is like my son called me and ask how to make sausage gravy, we worked through it and it worked. Now he can make his favorite all on his own.

@CinnamonSugar Has Ménière's disease been ruled out? It's one of those things that often gets overlooked.
The symptoms only started two days ago... since I had a chiropractic adjustment the day before, I went back to their office. If I don't get resolution, though, I'll try other avenues. (I have a six-month wellness check up coming in a couple weeks with my GP)

@CinnamonSugar, could it be a problem with your neck. I have trouble there and when I go to bed if I turn my head in a certain direction I have the spins.
My C-1 vertebrae was pretty badly out of line prior to the first adjustment done for vertigo and it's a common culprit. So yeah, I'm sure my neck has a lot to do with it. But I'm still getting symptoms at times, so I'm open to checking other sources.

For those who don't know, the definition for "thingies" is whatchamacallits. I have a friend who likes the word "krinstat" instead of thingies.....it gets the idea across. 😉

I think most families have their dysfunctional members. If you don't want to go, then I see no reason that you should. You are better off doing your own thing! Please, don't make yourself miserable over this!!!
