I tried the baking soda and vinegar method to unclog my bathroom sink, treated it twice. It worked! Thank you "You Tube University". 😀 I made liquid soap for our hands, then cut open lotion bottles & was able to scrape about 3 ounces into other containers. My lotion is more like a thick cream. I also did some financial stuff and searched online for better cat litter. Scoop Away messed up by changing their formula and the odor confrol is now nil ! 🤧😾

Yes, baking soda and vinegar can be used all over the house for cleaning. I make a paste of it, put it all over inside of the oven. Leave it overnight and then wipe it out the next day with a damp cloth. I also like to put it in the toilets after I clean, it seems to make them stay clean longer than normal. Use it all the time in the kitchen sink to keep the pipes clean and prevent smells. I find vinegar excellent for cleaning/mopping my tile floors, I just add some to my bucket. I have 3 dogs in the house, this seems to get up the puppy paw prints easier with the vinegar.

I tried cleaning with it once but absolutely hate the smell of white vinegar, so only use it when absolutely necessary. I had to wear one of my KN95s, which I scented with Jovan White Musk, to do that job. I'll wear one again when I pour some in my countertop dishwasher to clean it this weekend. I no longer use my stove since I have the NuWave oven & cooktops.

I am sorry it bothers you, it is a great cleaning product. Seems to do better than chemical products bothering me. It is also such a cheap alternative to most products.
 
I woke up to a heavy fog or smoke. Didn't know which it was but I could hardly see the cars in the parking lot. It has lifted a bit since then. I have to go outside today to the dumpster and will wear a mask. Not sure if we will walk today because the hall is very hot. If they had the air conditioning on for the building that would help. Some people that live here do not have air conditioning and being able to be outside your apartment helps. It helps too because there is no smoke smell in the hall but it is too warm now to stay there long.

Yesterday I made the cornbread flavored chaffles after I made the hard boiled eggs in the IP. Today I am doing four batches of Keto Chow for ice cream. Then doing some household chores.
 
Dreading tomorrow. Sister's "memorial" with no show 2 of three nephews. Wish I could use F word so I could say F'd up. Pretend I did. My heart has sunk to my feet. Very low. No Buffy. No more ghost of Max. His ghost not needed, he has her now. Never told the story of Max's ghost. Will one day in proper forum.

Will make it through day. One day this heavy burden will lift.

The Bronx Zoo was so wonderful last Sunday. I liked best the female gorilla who came to the glass to look at us, then sat against glass with her back to us. She was showing her disdain, I just know that! Good for her!

Anything to do with son/grandson is wonderful. At least tomorrow I will see son. Hope he doesn't bring his family. I don't want them sullied by mine.
 
Finally after a frantic week, it's Friday. Breakfast check, Lunch check, Dinner no ideas yet, probably leftovers or something else altogether.

Weekend shooting arrows at local Archery Club, yippee woohoo!

After speaking with the lady in charge at length of my experience since 1964, equipment I have, which style I prefer so on, so forth. Then, how long daughter has been ongoing with Archery. That was 2000 passing on my own knowledge and she also received a basic training package on a school trip at Winmarleigh Hall.

We bought love recurve type bows. So, we'll probably be able to sign up for membership right away. Oh I feel the stress coming off right now.

We've prepared our equipment, fresh wax, dusting off as hanging on wall, got arrows and cases. Ready for a fantastic day.

Will finally head to the fabric store today, alien drapes will be gone and something new will take place. Then some shopping.

I made a deal with my handyman to drive me around. A win win situation as he gets paid his rate and it saves me from cabbing it.

Really must get my rear in gear and start driving again.
 
Well sitting here at 81 deg F already...slept poorly due to
this heat,. breathing issues, but at least I've a place to sleep....
trying to work around this broken desk issue, dunno if I'll
find someone to fix the keyboard tray or not....tried to be
a decent person and text my ex last nite to see how she was
handling heat, heard back a not=so-nice opinion of my
life, even thos she does not know what i do...ah well i tried...
Breathing still hard, sore all over, but hey that is just the way
it is....!!! take care and thanks for having me!!!! :LOL:;)

@Pepper it's been close to 19 years since I've been to the Bronx Zoo. I remember a gorilla with a baby we saw from behind glass.

Sorry to hear you're not sleeping well Don. Can you get an A/C? Do you have an inhaler or a portable oxygen?

You can buy a new keyboard tray at Amazon, but you have to assemble it. For that matter, you can get a whole new small desk w/ the tray, many are really cheap. I wonder if you could get one at Walmart already assembled?

Yes I am considering trying to get a new small desk...this is a
glasstop that I bought in 2008 I believe....but maybe it is time...thanks...oh and btw I have a/c, but this old (70yo) house is not insulated well and won't hold the a/c, nor the heat in winter...ah well.....

It's another hot one, today!!


So far, I've had a productive morning. I spray treated my burger maker, checked fences and watered my seedlings, all before it got too hot outside. (there will be more watering needed later, tonght). I've gone gone through a large area of one of the closets.....folding extra blankets and linens, and organising where everything goes. It's all neat & tidy.....and I can find stuff!!!!! WOW! This isn't like me at all!!

Would you believe that I actually have an empty spot on one of the shelves in that closet?!!!! I'm sure it won't last, but for now, it's creeping me out!

I don't expect to ever let my hair grow long again (I've become too lazy to care for it), so I've been going through my hair clips and baubles....time to pass them on! Another empty spot!

Now, I keep on going back to look in that closet.....I'm waiting for it to spontaneity revert to it's former state!

80 F, cloudy, but not really "cloudy", it's smokey. I can see it hanging low. We are under moderate alert, but it looks worse than that. Canadian wild fires are blowing down on us again.

I spent the morning in the kitchen, preparing Doggy Delight's food. Slow cooked a gang load of plump chicken legs yesterday that were on a good sale; maybe 14-16 of them. Today I removed any bone, skin and chopped them, mixed w/ the bone broth, a bit of cooked oatmeal and froze individual portions.

Took her for our walk. Cleaned the mess in the kitchen.

Later, I plan to attempt to marinate my own chicken for Chicken Tikka Masala, lol... wish me luck.

Showered early and walked to the store for a couple of small items. Spent $32. It was getting really hot on the way home. Will have the second walk later in the evening.

I need to do some paperwork. Hate that stuff.

I really need to make a list the night before so I don’t forget the little things.

Hot and hotter. Yesterday was hot; today was hotter. A big thunderstorm just rolled on through and cooled us off a bit from 95 down to 72. Ahhhh. In an hour or two it'll be back up in the 90s. More of the same tomorrow.

DS and his husband visited and brought lunch. Pasties! I love 'em, but don't make them anymore because they're just too darned much work.

I really think Sir is doing a Quiet Quitting thing. When I got to work this morning, the bakery was a mess. The last person to leave is supposed to clean up, tidy up, make sure that everything that was baked but not shelved is covered and stored in the proofer overnight. (The proofer gets turned off when we're done each day...we just use it for overnight storage.)

This morning? OMG! The floor was so nasty that it was sticky. Four racks of cookies and two racks of breads that hadn't been packaged that I baked on Wednesday just sitting out, uncovered! The trash hadn't been taken out since I took it out on Tuesday, the cardboard boxes that we break down and take to the compactor for recycling were all still there. There were so many stacked up that there was no room for more.

Transferred Lady had an abscessed tooth yesterday so Sir sent her across the street to the dentist that we both use. I don't know what all the dentist did for her, but she said she's on antibiotics, swollen up and looking like a squirrel and in a lot of pain. So today? No Transferred Lady. Sir's day off is Friday. Today is Friday.

There I was in the big middle of what looked like it had been hit by a tornado. Alone. One of the store managers called Sir and told him he had to come in. He did turn up about 10. I only work 6-11. Oh, well.

Needless to say, I was all behind this morning, like the cow's tail. I told Sir that if I get there tomorrow and the bakery looks like it did this morning that I'd turn right around and go back home. Not that I would, but maybe he'll think I just might and will be there first thing in the morning all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

Another day like today? I'll be real tempted to take the $$ out of savings to pay the dentist in full and bid adieu to the bakery. Okay. I won't do it. There's no interest on the dentist's bill and don't want to lose the little I earn on savings.
