What are you doing today 2023

Today was a busy, fun day. Early this morning I started my quarterly tally for equity investments and liquid assets. This includes updating the number of shares for each investment and inputting the monetary values on a spreadsheet I created. I took time to cut my facial towelettes in half so they fit into the container I use. I also finally hung the cute cat calendar my son bought me before the beginning of the year. It's in the kitchen and I had to go through lots of screws to find the one that would fit into the molly. I wasn't sure if a new hole would need to be drilled so the calendar didn't hang over the light switch; luckily it wasn't necessary.

My son took me on a shopping trip today. We left the house at 9:45 and headed to Petco, where I bought a big box of a new (for me) litter I'm trying, then it was on to the sister store to my favorite thrift-consignment shop. I got a lined skirt, a jumper (both to wear in the house) and a knit top, all for $12.67! 🤑 Then I went to Dollar Tree which is in the same strip mall. I only wanted tissue packets and Crunch & Munch. I couldn't find the tissue packets after asking a sales person and walking through the store twice. After that we headed to a newly opened Shoprite. It's huge, very well stocked and organized. I bought the things that I usually can't find at our local supermarket (its sister store). I didn't spend a lot of time in any of the stores. I have my lists and like to get in and get out. I was pleasantly surprised that the Shoprite check outs weren't busy at all. I remembered to bring my insulated bag but forgot to bring my cloth shopping bags. It's a good thing my son had plenty of them in the car because none of the stores offered bags due to the N.J. law about bags.

I had been up all night so after we got home and I ate lunch, I fell asleep for several hours. Right as I woke up, a neighbor called and then my BFF called. After talking with them, I fed Deja and made a quick, easy dinner for myself...a microwaved omelette using egg whites. I also had a piece of toast. I took the second half of my meds, as I always do when I eat dinner. I am going to sort laundry momentarily and get ready to head down to the laundry room, probably around 1 a.m.

Now that I have gotten older I have at least one night a week that I can’t sleep. I wake up every 2 hours all night long so can really relate to everyone having difficulty sleeping.

I have a bunch of photo albums and asked my kids if they would like me to make each of them their own album with pictures from their childhood. It took me 20 hours but I got them done in the last few days. Many of the pictures were duplicates and some were blurry, etc so I threw a fair number away.

Up at 06:30 again... Oof! I'm here, then watched YouTube videos and then I'll be playing a few virtual games, my favourites, of course. Around 9:30-10:00 feeding my wee kitten and watching films or TV series in Tele.

Later on, decide with daughter which brunch items we'll have, then... I don't know. Will probably fall asleep on sofa while watching a good film... It's only 19°C in room just now, so kind of cold and it's now July for crying out loud 🤣. No fair!

Especially, after having such hot weather in late spring/early summer. Here's hoping some warmer weather will return. Gosh, I wish I could get a break, need de-stress, but that's in Monday through a phone call. Ah darn...

Just wanting sunshine on my shoulders again, soon, to make me happy and wishing yous all the same, blessed be!

It's the day of the annual vintage rally in the village. It's only a short walk from my house, but I don't bother going. It's the same every year and I think it's more for the exhibitors to meet up for a chat, than for the visitors.

Vintage Austin on the village playing field. The buildings in the background are the old village school and headmaster's house.

More my style - this beautiful BSA motorbuke.

I'm doing DJ music for the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast this morning. It's a fundraiser for the local community center. It's going to be hot today, but it's an indoor thing, so Play That Funky Music White Boy ! Lol
Very cool (pardon the pun)! :D Don't know if you've seen my previous posts, but my son is a well liked and respected deejay from N.J. to S.C., who started professionally when he was 15. He's awesome (not just a mom brag); other deejays and his fans think so too. I've been adopted as "Mama T" by some of his deejay friends. They are all great at what they do. A few years ago, they had an all vinyl event that was off the hook! Venue was packed and we danced to every thing from oldies, to Hip Hop, to Reggae to Latin. I have mad respect for what deejays have to do to prepare for providing music for various events. Keep making those ears and feet happy Bobcat.

I need to do some paperwork. Hate that stuff.
I swear paperwork breeds overnight. I hate it more than dusting - and trust me, that's saying something!

Just as paperwork tends to collect in a pile on my desk, my computer desktops also get littered with all manner of icons. When I save something, I just put it on my desktop while I'm using it. Fatal mistake? I leave it there until I can't bear it anymore. Then I spend an hour deleting and filing all those doodads that I'd saved. Think I'm exaggerating?

Trust me, I'm not.

So this tops my list of things to do today.

yes most people wouldn't know how to pronounce it properly..there's a lot of English words like that... for example... without looking it up.. how do you think Menzies is pronounced.. or Beauchamp ?
Milngavie is pronounced Mull-Guy in case someone wants to know lol!

As Beauchamp was the name of the French undertakers who looked after our dearly departed for a long time, it's pronounced by me as Beau Champ. Which by the way translates to BEAU (Beautiful) CHAMP (Fields) according to their family's genealogy.

just saying, no offence meant 😁😳🙃
