I never have. Last time I made it was over 20 yrs ago for husband #2, and there was nothing left to freeze. lolThat is one I have not tried to make at home. I always order it when we go out (son and family) that have it on the menu. I have learned to make a decent cheddar bocolli, a good potato, chicken noodle, beef vegetable soup. I guess like you said seems like it takes a good while to cook those onions down slowly. Might be in my mind not everyone one like it. I also like recipes I know will freeze well. Do you ever freeze your french onion?
I imagine that it would freeze ok though.
