When I was working at IBM Greenock, I used to stay in Largs near to Nardini's ice cream parlour. It was closed at that time, but I've visited it since it re-opened. Great Ice cream. The road from Largs passed through Wemyss bay, Skelmorlie and Inverkip and up the Spango valley to the IBM plant where the PS/2 computers were made. The IBM plant has gone now, as have the once famous shipyards on the river Clyde.
Nardini's the best ice-cream ever... . When we were kids my Granny used to take us on day trips to Largs, Saltcoats, Ardrossan etc.. she was only on a little pension, so we'd just have fun on the beach buidling sandcastles while she watched , and then granny would treat us to Ice cream....even if it was raining, we'd sit overlooking the beach in a Bus shelter with an ice-cream

The other day, a certain lovely lady who lives over the road asked me to give her a hand clearing out her two sheds.
Most of the stuff was just junk and her relatives took it away to the recycling centre, but, but, but, but, amongst the junk was an old adult tricycle.
It was in a sorry state and had no chain, sooooooo, Tim perloined it and took it over to my own shed, where I found an old chain, fitted it, then pumped up the tyres, and I've been riding it up and down the street today. I won't tell what some of the neighbours were calling me..... "You daft old bugger," was the nicest remark. It was fun. 😊

No good without Pictures.... ^^^^^ :D

The morning is almost over, but that's okay. I gave myself permission to slack off a bit this month, right?

This afternoon I host the online trivia game. Tonight I talk to my long-distance language partner. Somewhere in between, I'll try to fit in 45 minutes of exercise.

No particular housework plans. I might read some Schopenhauer. Although it appears the book club might be abandoning that.

Yesterday I decided it would be folly to try to clear the snow from my car, as my back was still sore. Today it's snowing, so the snow is piling up. I might go outside and take a photo of the snow on the car, to send to my language partner. Yesterday he asked about snow removal, and I sent him photos of my various implements. He sends me current photos too. Nothing but sunshine and shirtsleeves!

My back is feeling better. Should be good as new by tomorrow.

Had much beloved (and very low demand) guests from Thurs-Sat morning. After they left yesterday I did nothing. It was a calm before the storm day - just lazed around and read.

Today I begin earnest organizing and prepping for next weekend's 70s party. In a few hours I'll hit the Salvation Army thrift shop in hopes of rounding out my 70s ensemble. Fun, right? 🤪

Will also do preliminary food prep today. It's time to whip up some pizza dough and start it chilling in the fridge so I can make, bake and freeze mini calzones Tues or Weds.

Beyond Beef burgers are defrosting in the fridge. I'll mix, cook and freeze mini Italian meatballs tomorrow.

Baby is only coming Tues & Weds this week. DS isn't working this week (changed jobs) so he'll cover the baby Thurs & Fri.

I'll finish food shopping Tues & Weds because baby is very good in the grocery store. That'll give me Weds afternoon through Sat afternoon for food and party prep.

I'm very excited about this party. 35-40 people. Most of our nearest and dearest will be here. It should be a hoot!

Well.. I think that there are so many amateur photographers around these days with Iphones not sure anyone would be interested in mine... BUT.. tomorrow I may send this particular photo to a few newspapers, and magazines ..
Have you thought about producers of calendars, greetings cards or postcards? Can you imagine it as a greetings card "Congratulations on the birth of twins"! :)

yes my estranged husband encouraged me to do that years ago.. Trish.. but the market is saturated...

I did make my own calenders for a while back in the day.. but no-one wants Calendars now.. and barely anyone buys postcards these days
Shame. I still have calendars and my mum demands two calendars every year. You know, looking at it again, I would be tempted to have it printed onto a t-shirt or a tote bag. :)

TBF... I have 72,000 Pictures on my phone and computer.. at least a third of them are really worth being printed, but I can't print them all. I have got a few on my walls framed.. but they're mainly Black and white ones..

Hallelujah...
The freezer is finally defrosted and almost ready to be loaded again so now I am too pooped to participate as they say on doing anything else. I shall just open can of soup for dinner with toasted cheese sandwich and banana to follow though I do have one chocolate ice cream cone left...so yes instead of banana..
I deserve it todayhot cone.gif

Just got back from a thrift store run. Salvation Army was a mess - and no dressing rooms! Same with the next thrift store we went to, but I found a pair of leopard print Lucky Jeans with ankle zippers. Not sure if they're 70s but they're definitely retro.

I generally wear size 10 bottoms loosely so I took a gamble on the size 8 leopard pants. They fit! Paired with a black tee shirt and I'll be good to go. Also ordered one of these floral crowns from Amazon today. Thought it would be fun for the party and my 8 year old granddaughter will undoubtedly be thrilled to have it afterward.

That color combination might be a bit of a hodgepodge, but that was the 70s style, so at least I'll be keeping with the spirit of the era, right?

Oh dear, yes that's sadly true. We did all enjoy them, so much, and back then, most everyone did. Calendars and postcards, both.
Many people would enjoy your photos, now, but for the time being, we will! Thank you for sharing them with us.
