What are you doing today 2023

Yesterday……got going through some bedding.
Duvet covers I use to use with the inserts…..but haven’t for a very long time…..because I get too hot.
So…..I’ve been using them like a bedspread cover.
Keeping 3…..others go to friends that want them.
Kept 2…..that go over Mickis’ kennel…..she likes the coziness and darkness when she’s in there…..but not on the door side.

All of these are all on the list for alterations…..I’m taking out the zippers on all of them and closing the opening…..but…..still keeping the double fabric.

Today…..full recycle bin to the curb.

Time at the sewing machines.

Looking at the calendar, seeing February 1st…….starting to panic somewhat……still seeing tons to do to prepare for moving.
My goal is possibly to move end of May…..I’ve had some slacked off time this winter, and now feeling guilty for wasting some of that time.
I like the way you look for other ways to use things!! I do the same thing, and nothing is wasted. Worst case scenario, the extra covers would wind up in my "extra fabric" bin.

We're sitting in front of a nice wood fire...its got one more day of cold rain here so they say.
Outdoor cats are in their garage home...they sleep up on the white workbench with piles of pillows
and a big king sized fluffy brown blanket for their bed.

When I go over, they look out the door and look back at me with this disgusted look that seems to say "why don't you just make this go away".

Roads iced over and no school for the last 2 days, hoping for sunshine tomorrow. Everyone stay safe and warm.
I’d been wondering how you Texans were doing after reading your weather reports. My DD & her husband have postponed their drive to the northeast in the RV.

Kept 2…..that go over Mickis’ kennel…..she likes the coziness and darkness when she’s in there…..but not on the door side.
My little guy liked his crate covered on the top too. Nice fluffy towel inside too.

Morning keeps happening day after day. Has anybody else noticed?

I was awake at 4 so crawled outta the bed. Trouble with getting up just a few minutes early is that I get the notion that there's plenty of time. Then I dawdle.

New Lady will be there today. It's gonna be a long six hours!

No ice and sNOw here; it's all going north of us, thank heaven. Heck, we might even see some sun this afternoon.

@hollydolly Here's hoping your back has decided to cooperate with whatever you want to get done today.
Hope you get some of this lovely warm weather to putter in your garden after work, @georiagranny! I’ve turned off the heat and opened the windows for a couple days

Still nursing the painful Back, so not done anything of any note today. Gotta get this better very soon because I have a long drive on Friday to the hospital in the next county for an MRI.

Just got Chicken cooking in the Air Fryer.. gonna have it with Mash and beans.. really was going to make a chicken curry, but it would have meant standing for longer in the kitchen to do it and it would have been too painful, so this is quick and easier..

We have a bright, sunny day here so I'm taking advantage of it. I have lots of energy to use up, so I've vacumned throughout the house again, dusted, wiped down my bath, changed sheets on my bed, and am waiting for my laundry to dry so I can fold it up and put it away. Also took out my recyclables.
I guess that will about do it. Later this afternoon I can do my 2 mile walk as that sun takes the sting out of the cold air.
I'll think about something for dinner in a while.
Hope everyone else has some bright news, too!

Today, I'm

I'm having mid-morning tea right now, and I'm thinking about doing some sewing when I'm done. Or not!

Totally get this. Glad you're listening to your body.

I often scale back cooking and other household plans based on how I feel physically. Sometimes my body is fine but I just don't want to put forth the effort required.

That's why you and I keep our freezers stocked with meals we've made ahead.

Very windy here today as well.. but Sunny.. on this mini National strike in all but name....

The senior school children here ( my area) are one of the few who are still in School.. but the primary schools teachers have gone on strike along with the rest of the UK.. and the London bus drivers, and all of the Uk train drivers, and civil servants, and goodness knows who else.. :cautious: One of the many times I;m pleased I'm retired.. not trying to get to work today ...
I didn't miss any of them :D

Hello, and good afternoon!

I started my new pillow last night, and it just sucked me in.....I slept like a log!!! 😃

Weather wise, it's going to be another cr*p day, and I've not even stepped outside yet.

When my power was out, I took all of the bread out of my chest freezer and put it in the kitchen freezer, all of the meat, etc from the kitchen freezer went into the chest freezer. Bottom line, is that I can't find a thing!! So this morning I took everything out both freezers and sorted it all out as to what goes where, and put everything away where I need it to be. It seems like such a small thing, but I feel as if I've made a huge accomplishment!

Other than that, I've been working on my latest project: relearning how to play Backgammon! I used to play, many, many, many years ago (high school?), and I really do not remember anything at all about it! I bought a travel set for one dollar, and I've been trying to figure out the very confusing directions that came with it. This morning, I found a good sight on line, aimed at beginners! So I'm on my way!

That's my day so far. The next wave of cr*p is almost here. I had better go out and check fences while I can. I also want to find Andy....he hasn't had any water yet, today. I'm sure he's thirsty.

I'll be back when I can. TTYL

Oh my, I was a Backgammon fiend years and years ago! Like you, I've forgotten everything.

May I admit that patience isn't my long suit? New Lady. That is all😤

@hawkdon I thought I was the only one who got excited about Groundhog Day. I think it should be a big celebration with a decorated tree and presents, and we should all have road kill for dinner🤣

@Kaila and we could make the mattress jumping game part of our Groundhog Day festivities.

@CinnamonSugar Warm? Nope. We had a cold front come through sometime between when I went to work at 6 and got done at noon. It's only 51F here and overcast besides. Getting tired of Februdreary already because it borrowed some of the low clouds and gloom from January. It's not supposed to warm up anytime soon, dammit.

Sounds excellent to me! :D (y)
Perhaps we could do it as a group activity, to start every morning, (or perhaps when you get home from work, and when others get finished with household chores, etc) 🥳
And because @Trila started it; She should demonstrate for us, how to do special jumps with summersaults, etc!
😁

@Kaila and @Shalimar But...can we trust @Trila with demonstrating somersaults? And splits? Let's not even think about that! I mean...keep in mind her ability to break bones with no effort whatsoever...jussayin'

One more thing apropos "extra" fabric...back in the day, when the mantra was "use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without" that extra fabric became rag rugs. So help me, we had rag rugs everydamnwhere! Aunts, mother, grandmothers...when they weren't knitting, crocheting, sewing, they were braiding fabric for rag rugs.
