You were a busy lady, yesterday!Today I after dusting and finding places to put the couple of items leftover from yesterday, I will relax, watch T.V., play my games and hopefully hit the piano keys again. I worked like I had a job yesterday! By 9:10 a.m. when we left to go to Costco, I had washed out Deja's litter box and added fresh litter and reorganized the storage closet (again) because it was too hard to reach the toilet paper bundle once it was down to 3 packs. I also pulled out some items I need from the storage tote in there. Walking through Costco is always good exercise. My son commented that I was walking kind of fast. I like to get what I need and get out before it gets too busy, but of course they move things around so one has to walk around a bit.
I spent more at Costco yesterday than I've ever spent during a single trip....$200 and we don't buy meat. So I had lots of stuff to make room for which necessitated reorganizing the freezer and rotating stock. I made labels for the new boxes I'm using to store things. The last Chewy box I got came in handy because it's long and low, so it fit nicely between the hamper and my suitcases (in their new location) in the storage closet. I did other little nit picky things that were essential just the same. Oddly enough, even though I was very tired last night, I decided to play the piano and practiced the songs from my album. It gave my mind and fingers a good work out because I hadn't played them in quite some time. After I ate dinner, I fell asleep before I got a chance to post yesterday's activities.
I've never learned to play Chess.. I should have really, but I did manage to send my daughter to learn with a friend of mine who played Chess when she was age 8.. but I never learned, just don't have the patience tbh... but when I hear stories like yours I wish I had..Hopefully, playing through another champion chess game with my son. We did this yesterday and it was so freaking much fun! Some famous games can be found online (Chessgames.com) and my son and I chose one yesterday, Kasimdzhanov vs Kasparov (2005), copied the move notations to a blank page and played through the game.
The real fun was trying to anticipate what the next move would be before checking the sheet. We were frequently wrong and baffled by the actual move, but so elated the times we got it right! Man, that's a rush. LOL
Later we watched a youtube video of Spencer Finegold (National Master) playing through, discussing, showing alternatives, asking (he had a live class) for move anticipations and explaining the actual moves. So interesting.
I am not a chess master; actually spatial thinking has not been my strong suit, but I love this game. That's the thing about chess, you don't have to be great at it to enjoy it.
Bonus: Playing is helping my spatial thinking skills (and I'm sure a bunch of other brain areas). So, you know, cool.![]()
Me too.What time is it?
Wandered about last night,,, hate time changes!![]()

Respect !!I'm still sewing. After I hemmed 3 shirts to a better length, I started looking at clothes I don't wear and asking why.
I have a nice summer windbreaker type jacket that I love but the elastic on the bottom is too tight. That makes it ride up and when you wear it open the sides scrunch way up so it's too open. I hadn't done anything because the elastic is sewn in but I took it apart and took the elastic out. Perfect!
Next, I have two Land's End striped t-shirts that I keep but never wear. They have horizontal stripes and crew neck which is not flattering on me. I'm turning them into V neck, and I can see already it changes the whole look.
Yay, new clothes!

I sew as well and, what @hollydolly said, respect.I'm still sewing. After I hemmed 3 shirts to a better length, I started looking at clothes I don't wear and asking why.

Yeah, I get a little excited about chess, I know. LOLYou still can, @hollydolly.
I know what you mean about having the patience as that was hard for me at first (for months, really), the thinking through moves, tracking all the pieces on the board (and the squares, which I don't do yet), etc. It's a lot. But it's so much fun as well.
The thing is, chess seems a simple game on the face of it; the rules are clear enough. But when you get into it, it turns out to be a multi-layered, beautiful, passionate, bloody, grueling, exhilarating game of war.
My partner lives in Suffolk and described the same thing to me. I think he was a little sad about the snow not hanging around for a while.DD rang , she said they got snow in the morning where she lives .. (70 miles north of me)... and she was at work and got excited at how heavy it was falling.. by afternoon the rain had come and washed it all away and by the time it was going home time the sun was out and everywhere was dry. She said it was very surreal.. like none of it had ever happened..
@StarSong..90 ?.. Nine Zero ?.. wow, are you having another shindig ?...eta ..actually 96
I'm so sorry. It's awful to be in pain like that and when your doctors don't pay attention to your requests. I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and you are feeling better soon.Staying home and being miserable. My gum from where I had an implant installed has been hurting all weekend. I called the surgeon that placed it in the jaw bone and he called in a prescription for me. When I saw that it was for Hydrocodone, I refused it. I told him NO narcotics. I am using Advil liquid gels only with very little relief. Tomorrow, he said to be there by about 7:45 and he will take me first.

With me, it's ice that helps, not heat. Heat makes me itchy.
I'm with Hols. Heat for me. Cold compresses make me miserable.opposite for me.. the cold actually seems to make my pain worse.. trying to deal with the pain and then the pain of ice is too much for me...
What a lovely compliment, thank you very much. I shall pass on your kind sentiments to my good lady, no doubt she will say her customary: "Aw shucks!" Take that as a thank you.@horseless carriage You and Mrs. Horseless are true fashion plates! I love looking at your pix.
I haven't played chess since I was about 30.Hopefully, playing through another champion chess game with my son. We did this yesterday and it was so freaking much fun! And I haven't played since I was maybe 12? It got to be that it wasn't fun because I played chess with my genius brother. It was more work than play!I haven't played chess since I was about 30.
