Today is going to be busy once I get started. I am leaving for Florida tomorrow morning. I will be driving straight through, which will be about a 15 hour drive with just stopping for gas and coffee. Lunch with a friend at noon today. This afternoon, going to the office to pick up my mail and go over some bills to give to my secret to pay.
15 hour drive ..that's HUGE.. are you used to driving that long.. ?

I remember driving 16 hours once non stop... I couldn't do it now...

Morning gang....37deg here, up around 60f I guess...got some bills to pay today, and watch the lawn maint man do his thing,
rake leaves on this big lot, sticks and such as that, also he will
haul off one small rubbermaid shed...so that will take care of
major cleanup for this year....
....and . you're going to call the doctor aren't you ?:sneaky::D

Not really used to it, but I like to drive, even though my friends tell me I’m crazy. I have made this trip maybe 5 times and also drove across the country once, but made several stops to check out the sites. It was a very good experience. As I traveled across the country, it was kind of strange how the menus changed, especially in the Southwest where they like to use peppers in everything they make.

Yes I can imagine it would be a fabulous experience, and given the wide roads you have, a much nicer experience that driving in the roads in the UK. I hope you have a very safe journey.. (y)

Good morning to you, too! Sadly, my agenda for today involves bill paying also... I'd much rather be road tripping down good ol' I-95. :) Maybe soon. @hawkdon

Oh, you are so lucky! I just mentioned in another post how I miss traveling I-95 and when we go to Florida, that's the route we take. I know what you mean about the long drive! We used to make it to Savannah from Philly in one long day.... with one driver, but now we always stop for an overnight halfway. Works a lot better that way. @Born_To_Lose

I have done that also. Stopping in the evening is the better way to do this long drive. I usually stop in Walterboro, SC. at the Hampton Inn, just off of I-95. This trip, I’m going by myself, so I will just keep driving. I like I-95, it’s I-4 that’s the pain because of getting around Disney World. Traffic is horrible.

I couldn't make that drive, I don't think, without some good rests along the way.
Have a good trip!

Walterboro? Didn't we just hear about a trial there?

Hub and I are going "shoplooking" we call it, where we go to a shopping center and walk around looking at the stores...hopefully find a good new restaurant to have "dunch" - that's a late lunch to us.
Pretty much basking in the afterglow after managing to save $1355.00 on our insurance...lol.

Hello!!!

🔥 The fire is done, and glad of it!

That was a lot of work!! We couldn't have done it without

to help us! He is a great supervisor!! It was a huge fire, and it burned for two days. I'm happy to say that even with all of the branches that I was throwing in it, I still have my eyebrows!!

💪 We'll probably go into town today. My new medical insurance (Medicare) started on March 1st, and it includes a free membership to a fitness center. I want to check out the options, and see if there is one that suits me. I miss the gym from when I was working at the hospital.

📚 This afternoon, I'm hoping to start reading some of your posts....find out what's been going on while I was away.

Other than that, no specific plans for the day. I don't even know what I'm having for dinner. Maybe I can "sweet talk" Dio into taking me out to eat, while we're in town...or not!!!

I like that I-95 too, although I've seen some horrible things and loss of life along there. Only trouble with traffic has ever been Richmond, but we found a way around it that works great. D.C. is bad sometimes, but not like Richmond. Oh, Walterboro! There was a great southern-type buffet there years ago but it closed down. Now we usually stop at Smithfield, NC because we found a few great hotels there. Haven't gone for a couple of years now, though, and hotels have a way of changing status fast.

Have a great time, and a safe trip! You stopping at Pedro's South of the Border? 🤭 My most vivid memory from there is that I broke a tooth on a Chimichanga back when their restaurants were decent. I miss all the SOTB billboards they used to have along I-95 many years ago... they started getting fewer and fewer as the years went by. And I love seeing and crossing Lake Marion. Ooops, can you tell this is a topic I'm passionate about?! @Born_To_Lose

The Roaring Twenties......the time of illicit gambling, The Charleston, flapper girls, gangsters and prohibition! With feather boas, head bands, fedora hats, cigarette holders and black & white movies. The 1920's often depicts the gangster lifestyle as being luxurious, with fabulous clothes, glamorous ladies and fancy cars. We therefore ask you to dress to impress as we party the night away in true old fashioned style.

Today I have been booking our tickets to the sort of events that we love. This one won't be taking place until October, but you can be sure that tickets will be sold out long before then. Robert Redford in his pink suit, I will leave to others, I shall wear my Zoot suit whilst my lady has a brilliant flapper girl costume that she made for herself.

The date is now on the calendar with the other vintage events.
You are sharpest, coolest looking man on this forum. You probably could be a model for the style of clothing you wear.

Used to be a drive I did in past years from NY. Have a safe trip!
