What are you doing today 2023

Well...yesterday was not a good day. While preparing the cabbage, I slices my thumb, BAD. I almost went to the ER for stiches, but at the last moment I decided to "home care" the wound. I kept on wrapping it up in gauze, over and over, because of all of the bleeding. (Just sayin': all of those dishes to wash!!! And then a shower!!! I was back to wearing a plastic bag, with rubber band, over my hand!) By the time I was ready for bed, most of the bleeding had stopped. I was able to rinse the blood off, and hold the cut closed by applying a tight bandaid. At least that was better for sleeping with, instead of the bulky gauze. 🤕

Today, Dio is sicker than ever, and he has a temp of 103°. 🤒 I just made an appointment for him to see his APN. We'll be leaving in about 30 minutes.

Sorry, I have to run! Enjoy your day!

Today and yesterday have been my "clutzy" days .....yep, two
in a row, dropping, knocking over things, breaking things,
feet slips...and on and on.....so that's how it is....55 deg now (f)
and very very foggy out.....:(

I need to get back into exercising, after a 2-day hiatus.

I've been (or at least felt) too busy to use the telescope I borrowed from the library. Today I'll read the instructions and figure out a viewing location, somewhere out of town. The actual stargazing won't be tonight though.

I'll make a point of sitting on the balcony for a while. I need some life-giving rays and fresh air.

Trivia game tonight, then read myself to sleep.

You are not having a good time…..are you…..
Please be careful.

Today has been like any other day lately. My daughter called to holler at me because her Dad my hubby does too much and I should stop him. Obviously, she doesn't know her Dad. If he makes up his mind to do something there is no stopping him. I am sure I know him better than she does since I have been married to him for over 55yrs. When I met him a girl came up to me and if I was dating her brother. She scared me and when I said I was I thought she was going to hit me.Instead, she hugged me and thanked me for taking him off her hands. She said he was always causing trouble and would never obey their Mom. She also said I deserved an award for dating him.

I had to put my 17 year old cat to sleep today.... at noon. He had a brain tumor.
He was a large, lovable, orange tabby. I miss him already.
So sorry for your loss. You loved him for 17 years…..and that love will continue forever, only from a different place.
Visiting hours at the “ Rainbow Bridge “ are 24 / 7
REST IN PEACE, little one.

My barber retired so today I tried a highly recommended shop at the County Seat. Four barbers, all younger ladies with weird hair coloring and lots of piercings. There were three middle aged guys waiting so that was a good sign. Turns out they were all walk ins. No greeting from any staff member, no eye contact, no smiles. After a while, my turn came and in short order, I got a haircut that reminded me of the ones I got while in USN boot camp. Nothing like I asked her to do.

On the plus side, this haircut will last a good long while and I have lots of hats. On the negative side I am still looking for a new barber.

You've inspired me to pay closer attention to flowers, GG.

While the bank clerk managed paperwork yesterday, I gazed out the large windows and marveled at their gorgeous birds of paradise plants. When we moved to CA, my mother was smitten by them. Turns out to have also been my MIL's favorite and both had them in their gardens.

No idea why DH & I never thought to plant them, but we will now. He'll grab a few plants when he hits the nursery in a week or two.

For anyone unfamiliar with birds of paradise the plant itself is quite large, as are the flowers, rather like calla lilies. The flowers really do look a lot like birds with colorful upper plumage.

ah yes they are beautiful. As far as I'm aware we don't have them in the UK even here in the sunny south, but we've got them in Spain. I have photos somewhere of them on my land..

It was a pleasant day in the bakery, and I even finished all my work today so didn't have to ask Retired Lady to finish for me.

As soon as I was out the door, we were on our way to the garden centers where I used up my gift cards plus about $30 in real money. Oops. This time tomorrow, the garden will be, as they say, a riot of color.

Do you stay in the room while she works? I always left or moved to a totally different part of house from where she worked.
No, I stay right here. I talk to her while she works if she is where I can see her. When she is in the bathroom cleaning I don't talk to her. My voice is quiet and I would have to yell for her to hear me and then she probably wouldn't hear me either.

I would think she appreciates that; likely a lot of people in such positions get treated liked ghosts in the house. Not that I know... I'm assuming. Anyway, it seems nice, that you talk with her.

We get along great. I think we will end up being good friends. She took me to the store today and that was something I was trying to figure out how to do. My bunny needed to restock his drawer in the refrigerator.
