What are you doing today 2023

Today so far, I did my 9 lap walk with my friend. Remember I said my knee hurt? After my coffee it went away. Now it is fine.

Making breakfast right now and working on the two MP3 players I am trying to format (did my old one first) and now the 2nd one. I am only putting the music on the old one that I REALLY love as that is the one I am using. The 2nd one I am putting music on for my friend that I think she likes. Then I am putting pictures of puppies, kittens, bunnies and horses in the photo gallery for her to look at. In the near future, this will be something that could help her. I hope so. The 2nd one is new and I never used it so have to learn how to use it so I can do this. It is shiny blue so I think she will like it.

I need to vent a bit. Just after the guy came to fix my freezer, the lady who comes to help me clean came over. As she came in I was setting up my crockpot to make chicken soup. She watched me doing it. When she was wiping down my counters she UNPLUGGED the crockpot!!!
She used to have a habit of unplugging my toaster and can opener until I told her not to. She has weird things she often does that I have had to tell her no to. I had gone into the kitchen to get a drink and saw it off......asked her why as she knew I was cooking. She just got all blonde and said..OH, I did not notice the plug was the crock pot...thought it was your toaster. I reminded her again to not unplug things..ever, SIGH. If it were not for the fact she does a good job on her routine tasks she would be out the door. I have no idea how long it was off. So I had to start it again.
If I may make a recommendation: Tape a brightly colored note next to the outlet that says, "Please don't unplug anything in my house."

Same with anything else she does that you've asked her not to.

Rainy day today and it suits my mood. Got a messenger request reply from someone that I had sent a message to months ago. Was trying to connect with a long lost half brother through one of his sons. Not sure at this point what to do. Son was polite but said his dad is bitter. WHAT???? that is a turn about. sheesh. At least the son sounded nice.

I am now going to do something useful and sort out my clothes for spring. I know I have gained a few pounds and some stuff is not going to fit so that should improve my mood immensely

Most of the handyman work is completed, he'll return to do some of the final bits in a couple of weeks. We've also added a few things to the list of what we want him to do. Very happy with the new gates (they still need to be stained and sealed though), ceiling fan and lights.

These were all things DH could do in younger years, but that ship has sailed.

Highest priority today is slogging through the pile of personal and business paperwork that amassed on my desk over the past couple of weeks. Love having our grandson three days a week but when he's here virtually nothing gets done outside of occasional quick errands. He arrives 7:15 AM and leaves 4:30 PM, which makes for a very full day. DH & I pretty much collapse for the evening when DDIL picks him up.

Yet another snippet of proof that we're not as young as we used to be and don't have the same resilience.

Sigh

Strange morning... got a call from my accountant... income tax rejected by government r/t missing one form... Go to all the sites on which they say you can access it... big fat nada. So I will need to follow up on Monday

Also tried down-loading app for Medicare Prescription plan so I can pay on-line. Also a dead end.

When technology works, it's great. When it doesn't it's a major PITA.

I think I'll go make myself one of those double espresso/mocha/valium lattes...

Just finished playing in the dirt:) and thought I'd finished up that one little bed. Nope. It's like the other one. They want more flower friends.

It's very warm (80 again) and sunny after this morning's early thunderstorm. Expecting more of the same tonight, then rain tomorrow.

This morning's storm knocked out our internet (I'm on my phone), which means no TV, either. Not expected to be up again until between 4 and 8. Sure is quiet!

Of course it's gonna rain tomorrow on a day off:mad: Well, it'll keep me and my $$ out of the garden centers, but the new flowers won't have more friends.

Remember yesterday I said New Lady showed up? She said Sir asked her to. We thought that kinda strange because he'd have mentioned it. He DIDN'T ask her to! She must have figured she was safe because Friday he's always off. If he'd been there, he'd have sent her home. She has a way if playing fast and loose with the truth, and I have a feeling that she's gonna find herself in a world of hurt. Soon.

The good news is that she's working at a different store next week.

I've had this aloe plant for about 25 years. Totally ignore it except to (rarely) give it a little water. It's about three feet long. Even has a couple of flowers right now. My MIL nurtured a small cutting from her plant - heaven only knows how many decades she had hers - and it just keeps growing. Will probably one day break the wooden planter.

It's a wild thang!

I have 3 aloes that my father started for me. Can't remember when but he died in 2012 and I had them for awhile by then.

It took me most of the day but I finally formatted both of the MP3 players. Now to learn how the new one works so I can download some special Christian music on it for my friend.

Made chicken tenders for supper and they came out really good. I will make more tomorrow because I have more chicken that did not thaw out in time for me to cook today.

Walked 9 laps this morning with my friend. Later another friend from upstairs came for a visit. Otherwise a quiet day.

Maggiecat let me sleep a whole extra hour this morning before she started purring in my ear. Good kitty.

The rain hasn't started yet and probably isn't going to be as nasty as predicted. Probably.

We are going out for a late lunch today. Ugh. Am I the only person who really doesn't enjoy going out to eat?

Besides, I wanted to get my hair cut today. Doesn't look like that will happen.

@hollydolly Did you remember to set your clocks ahead?

Has Maggiecat started going out the door yet?

No, I don't really enjoy going out to eat anymore. If I have to get food, I would rather bring it home. Usually I like my cooking better than the restaurants. Just don't want to cook a whole big meal for other people too. Too much clean up for me. lol
