What are you doing today 2023

The lovely lady from across the road telephoned me in a panic, she asked me to go over the road and see if she had dropped her bunch of keys in her pathway. I left my cornflakes and ran ( well sort of fast shuffled) over there and found her keys in her front door. Ten minutes later she rang me again and was relieved to know that I'd found her keys.

"Hang on, how did you manage to leave the house and leave your keys in the door, surely you would just pull the door shut when you left," I asked.

"Tim, thank you, as I was leaving, I did just pull the door shut, but I heard my house phone ringing so I had to use my keys to get back into the house to answer the phone, then I left in haste to catch the bus and left the keys in the door, aren't I a total idiot," she replied.

"Well, you're the best looking total idiot I've ever met." I told her.

"I'm bringing back a big steak and kidney pie, you can come over later and share it with me, after I've given you a slap, you cheeky bugger", she laughed. 😊

Last night I decided to set the telescope up on the balcony. The instruction sheet told me what each part was, but not how to put them together. I did have a nice look at the Moon and Pleiades through my binoculars though. Accompanied by old-person shakiness.

So today ... I found the real instruction manual online. I went to the library today to print off the manual. I also printed the next book club selection so I don't have to read it online.

On arriving home, all I could think about was going to bed. I had a nap, talked to my language partner, and now I'm going back to bed.

That was my day! Exciting huh.

PS. The day was relatively warm, about 25°F (-4°C). Miserable. The cold goes right through you. I prefer the true cold, 0°F or colder. Much more comfortable.
Sounds like you had an interesting day.
What's the new selection for your book club?

I've just fluffy-dusted my desk and keyboard so I can say I've done something so far today.

I've been in recovery phase for a quite a while now and it's really starting to wear, the doing of not very much.

I miss the horse rescue, my walks with the dog, yoga, writing. Well, I suppose I could write, but that takes focus. Okay chess takes focus too, (but a different kind).

Sorry, this is the whining thread, right? 🙃 :censored:

You know what, I'm planning on cleaning my bathroom today. That's what I'm doing. And some writing, even a couple lines; I'll take a couple lines. ;)

Not me.... erm, why have I got a brown shoe on one foot and a black one on the other, sod it, I'm nor risking doing my back taking one off, so they'll just have to stay as they are? 😊
I have actually gone to a restaurant with my son and family with my shoes on the wrong feet..didn’t notice until I got up from table when leaving. Think my son even took a pic of it.
Then about a year later I did the same thing when out with my daughter.

Thank goodness the rain/sleet/snow has stopped and the overnight frost has thawed.
Just had a load of logs delivered. Apparently it's 2 cubic metres, but I'm never sure how accurate that is. Anyway, it's heavy and takes ages to stack up. I recon it's like dry stone walling. (not sure if this is just a British thing). The coal/ logs/ potato merchant said that he is very busy delivering logs because coal is so expensive that nobody want is.

Cooking burgers, coleslaw and potato wedges for dinner.

Welp, good morning Folks!!! Sunny but cold out, 28deg F....
Rains are past finally...waiting for my caregiver to come about
11am...have her come in 2 times a month, she cleans up
and all that....will have some wild pics to share later as I had
my stealth cam set on back porch last eve...so make it
a great day if you want !!!!:giggle:

Doing a boo hoo task today, hubby's clothes are going to the men's shelter. But will smile thinking that someone will wear them now. Paul never did, he bought clothes but never wore anything other than tees and sweatpants. A lot of stuff with tags still.

Not sure if I should donate socks and underwear?

@Capt Lightning, they do dry stone walls in New England too. Takes a lot of patience and talent, I’m thinking. Oh, and strong back muscles, lol

That will be a tough day, Lee.

Be sure and check the pockets first.

As for socks, many charities are desperate for socks for the homeless. It’s not really the right season, but they probably store them. If not, maybe you could hold them until next winter. I don’t know about underwear. Do ask them.

The charity shops accept clean socks and underwear but they usually sell them on as rags

I feel for you today ((Lee)))... I had to do the same with much of my husbands clothes and shoes last year.. took me a whole year to do it.. ( different circumstances I know than yours )... but it's an absolute heart-wrencher..

Well it's been a lovely sunny day.. it was great to be in and out of the barn working, and leaving the doors wide open.. amazingly it brought the humidity down to a much nicer level..it usually sits at around 75 % in there or worse when it rains.. but today was like the old days when the O/H was here and we were working out there..so it was nice.

My pictures didn't all get put up.. transpires I needed picture wire for the heaviest of the frames and altho' I had heavy duty picture hooks it wasn't good enough for the job.. so only 2 items instead of 3 have gone up... so I have to wait until my friend has more time, and they can come and help again..

However they did help me with a few other things around the house so that was very useful .. . altho' much of the time was spent looking for the Drill.. I'd put it away last summer , and forgotten where I put it.. took several attempts at hunting in all the places I didn't think it could be, and eventually found it in one of them.. :D

It's almost 5.30pm.. and still sunny.☀️☀️. I'm tempted to go out, but I won't. I'll just go and get the barn and the workbench all tidied up...

Got through all the paperwork yesterday. Big YAY on that! Today we're seeing DD and family and the kids will stay and spend the night with us. Would normally be a very active visit but 8 year old DGD fell and broke her elbow Friday evening - on her first day of spring break. Of course it's her left arm and she's left handed. Such a bummer.

Other than that, this morning DH & I will take apart the Roomba for a cleaning, I'll toss in a load of laundry and manage a few other housekeeping odds and ends. Might even dust!
@StarSong I'm so sorry about your DGD's broken elbow! And on spring break, that's just terrible.

Good that you got the paperwork done. I hate that stuff. I was annoyed to pay my car registration today, even online!
