It's 7.30am..it's overcast and cold.. I'm just having a cuppa tea, before I start getting ready to head up country for my river cruise this morning with my daughter and friends.. . I do hope the sun comes out at some point but the forecast looks unhelpful...

it sounds like a stupid thing to say Diva..but I hope they don't.. because if they do, they're not going to find what's causing all the pain in my knees.. and hip... :)
I hope they do find out why you have such pain. If you have to have joint replacement you will have plenty of us to give advice to get through it. It is scary to think about but will more than likely give you great pain relief after recovery. That is what I found after my hip replacement. The pain before was horrific, the pain after replacement was like going on a beach vacation!!

yes I'm very grateful that I will have all of you here who have gone through similar experiences.. and I get to have the advice.

Good morning breakfast clubbers.......sunny and 73 deg F
here today, going to get hot, into 90's later on...never got any rain as weather weenies promised yesterday .....we are very
dry here.....yay my mail kid showed up early, got some chores
for him....good to see a teen asking to work!!! :D

Son/grandson coming this am. DIL arrives after her work day ends. Then we are going out to dinner for MY mother's day. Monday is HER mother's mother's day. Sunday is just for dil, son, grandson. Seems all her miscarriages are really nagging at her this year, so she's not up to hosting on actual day.

Beautiful day today. Mid 80s, sun is shining, and my three kiddos, their spouses and the grands were all here yesterday afternoon.

On this, the eve of Mother's Day, I'm feeling particularly blessed to be on excellent terms with all of them, and they with each other, and to be within a 1/2 hour drive of all.

All are healthy, gainfully employed, appear to be happy, and are financially stable.

It seems rarer and rarer these days for families to be able to tick all of those boxes, so I'm aware and grateful for how fortunate we are.

After a lovely long soaking rain last night, the garden looks considerably happier and I was out this AM completing pruning. Had previously trimmed loropetalum and three of my red drift roses at the east corner of the house. Today tackled the rest of the roses and the juniper at the west corner. Also the peach drift rose got a partial trim (can't bear to cut off the flowers actively blooming). That's about all my back can handle.

Shopping for a birthday present for a friend. She is the only person I give an actual physical gift to for her birthday and Christmas. She thrives on giving presents and I can’t escape it. This is real torture for me because she needs nothing.

@Jules Flowers or a flowering indoor plant? How about one of those solar wind chime thingies like these?

I have two because they're so pretty. As soon as it's dark, they light up.

It was a morning! Not five minutes after I got there, it was UTI time. What? One minute I'm fine, the next I've got a UTI? Sir came in right behind me so I told him I had to go to urgent care before it got any worse.

DD fetched me and off we went...nobody at urgent care at 6:30 in the morning, thank heaven. By the time the lab work was done the pharmacy was open. Collected my scrip, downed one and back at the bakery in less than two hours.

It's hot. My daddy used to say there are only two temps here in the summer, one is hot and the other is hotter.

How hot is it? I bit the bullet and turned on the a/c.

@Georgiagranny That hummingbird hanger looks nice. I can’t get it fast enough, though I’m going to look for something similar around here. I considered flowers but she’s going to Costco for her own flower shopping so that was off the table.

TG the meds for a UTI kick in fast.

I'm enjoying my CD music. I have a Siriusxm home radio but all it will do for the last several weekends is say "Acquiring Signal" and I got tired of fooling with it and decided to see if my CDs would play and they do! Now I'm liking my cd's better! Watch out Sirius, I may cancel you!

What's a CD??? Just kidding. I miss the time when we could slide one into our TVs or Computers! I should have kept my old CD player! Lucky you!

I was surprised that my player AND my cd's work! But, I'm sure happy that they do!!!! I haven't used it probably in a decade or more. I've had that Sirius radio for 13 years and I'm guessing that's why it won't do anything but say "acquiring signal" but I don't know.

Hi folks... it's 10pm... back from my trip on the river.. what a disappointing day weather wise. Verry cold.. and grey.. it was like a winters day , so drab and chilly. I didn't take a coat with me either.. and my daughter who was wearing a fleece and a Gilet was freezing.. we all had to go and get a hot coffee before we got on the boat to warm ourselves up...

After the little trip up and down the river we had a browse around the market and the shops.. and then went and had lunch at the Italian restaurant in town... very busy there.. but the food was good...

Today was a national rail strike.. and so of course the traffic was greatly uncreased on the 3 hour round trip for me...but it wasn't too torturous..

Anyway.. such a shame about the weather... we'll go another time when it's sunny.. and on a bigger boat..

Beautiful pictures, and despite the cold you are lucky! We have yet to see the first green leaf in N.B. Grass is out along with dandelions but that's about it! Present temperature 15 degrees Celsius!

We've had some beautiful spring days during April and May, but this last week of May has been cold , wet and just out of character for the middle of may.. so it was a shame today was so cold, because it was forecast to be sunny and 64 deg, .. so we'd all have brought coats if we'd realised it was going to be so cold.

Where we went is a popular day trippers town.. and aside from the town centre with it's shops and restaurants the riverside which is usually extermely busy was barren of people. ... even the oubs overlooking the river which are always packed full from the time they open were empty... we saw one couple sitting overlooking the river, and that's all

Had the plumber today to install the hot water heater. The company owner came by to check on the job. One of the plumbers was not feeling well. She asked if they could get it installed tomorrow. They did get the old one disconnected and removed.

She was worried about letting them do the install. She was concerned that they might make a mistake or get hurt when someone is sick. Told her it was no problem as I too did not feel well. (migraine) so I was happy to wait.

I hope I feel better tomorrow. The dogs were barking nonstop when they were in the house.
