Well that would have been nice Star, however I did go alone.. and it was very strange to be there by myself...last time I was there of course the Estarnged O/H was there too... however.. there were thousands of people, literally... . I got there at around mid-day.. and 6 car parks were already full.... I always make it a policy not to go anywhere on a holiday weekend, because the traffic on the motorway is so bad... and today was no different.. however I did get there.. and there was lots to see.. altho' the timetable for certain things was for 2 hour or more later , or I'd just missed them, so I missed some Gymkhana shows.. but I did get their prize winning ceremony.. so not all bad.. Mainly livestock.. sorry @CinnamonSugar , I couldn't find the pigs.. but there was plenty cattle and sheep...Got ready to start the pizza dough yesterday afternoon and realized there was no available freezer space for the finished pizzas.Good thing I checked! We'll focus on eating frozen foods this week so pizza can shift to next weekend's schedule.
No need to go to the stores this weekend - took care of that during the week. Plus.
Today's tasks include laundry, a little invoicing and some other business paperwork catch-ups.
Wish I lived nearby @hollydolly so we could go to your county fair together!
Get yourself a nice little green plant for your desk.I have worn myself down cleaning around the computer
desk....had to pull it away from wall and vacuum and use some
glass cleaner on some items...but at least it will look better
than it did....now to get the spectrum guy in to hook up
the wireless for the new chrome book....wheww....worn outl.....![]()
@hollydolly local “county” fairs average 5-10 dollars to get in; state fairs are 10-15 dollars admission (lower prices are seniors). But of course you pay separate for any carnival rides and, yes, food is pricy and not greatOut of interest... how much is a ticket for a county show in any of your states ?... It was £25 today... that's just admission only.. all food and drink is hugely expensive.. for example, a sugar and Lemon crepe was £11.50...
I didn't mind paying to go in, I'm just interested in the comparison..
On the way home the motorway was congested, but not as bad as going, because the direction to the county show is also the motorway to Heathrow Airport..and they said on the radio news..that this is the biggest holiday getaway for the airlines since pre pandemic 2020... on the return journey the news announced that there had been a big computer meltdown at Heathrow, and people were standing in the boiling heat in corridors for over 3 hours...
At the show, I bought a Pair of Equestrian leggings, they're a top name, and they are so much better than normal leggings... I also got 2 linen/cheesecloth mid sleeve tops in Navy blue and Royal...
The queues for the food stands and bars were huge regardless of what type of food it was or how expensive it was... so I waited until the lunch time queues died down.. and I found a fish and chip stall which had a short queue.. and .. were selling kid size meals as well. I'm not tight but I am not going to pay £20 for cod and chips.. and so I got a little kid portion which was way plenty for me.. for £6.00 which is what an adult portion would cost in a normal regular fish and chip shop
Wow ! that's a huge difference in price... £25 here this year.. I got the senior concession.. I never usually ask for that anywhere, but it reduced the price by £3... it did make me laugh tho'.. When I asked for a senior concession I just wanted the woman to ask who it was for... but No...she just gave it to me without question...@hollydolly local “county” fairs average 5-10 dollars to get in; state fairs are 10-15 dollars admission (lower prices are seniors).
