What are you doing today 2023

@katlupe I get it about not being able to "just find" more hours for an aide to work in your tiny apartment. Mine is just a hair less than 300sf, and it takes me about 10 minutes to tidy up, 30 minutes to clean, maybe two hours to deep clean. Deep clean happens about once every week or two. I can't imagine what you even found for her to do coming in twice a week!

Don't know what ails me, but I sure haven't felt like myself lately. I have no idea who I feel like, but certainly not me.

ETA: Now if I had an aide to come and work in the garden, I could keep her busy all day every day:)
One problem I have and maybe I have a mental problem that I don't know about, but I cannot stand having someone come in and start touching my things. And the aides come from other apartments in buildings that have all types of people. I do not want to catch anything from them bringing it into my apartment.

If I had a garden, she would have been out there weeding.

I have never had anyone touch my things.. and I think I would have the same sort of reaction as you , Kat... if I did , so I don't think you're strange in that.. I think maybe a lot of people feel the same way

When I was a cleaning fairy, the first thing I did when I got to somebody's home was wash my hands. Thoroughly. When cleaning the kitchen or bathrooms? Vinyl gloves, the disposable surgical kind. And I wore those disposable socklet thingies over my shoes.

Didju know that when you're using surgical gloves, if your hands start to sweat, that's when the bacteria starts to grow? That's when you take 'em off, wash your hands, don a new pair.

Actually, I was more concerned about me catching something from them, than them catching something from me!

@katlupe
I agree with @hollydolly
I too dislike people touching my things. I could tolerate having floors washed, and possibly vacuumed, but I too, feel uncomfortable and leery, of others handling stuff, and having relatively free reign, in my space. I am also leery of contagions.
It does make having helpers, very difficult, when one is needed.
So, no thank you, for anything non-essential, or if I could do more, myself, than I can.

I mean to say, that I do not find you to be strange, AT ALL!:LOL::giggle::love:

There would definitely be diamonds in the rough,
like @Georgiagranny
whose help I would surely welcome, as actual help!

Looks like being wet and a lot cooler today, so I won't have to water the outside plants. I'll still have to check and water the tomatoes, beans,courgettes etc. in the polytunnel. Then it's off shopping and make sure the house is tidy before I drive to the airport to meet Mrs.L - back from her visit to England to see our daughters. The rest of the day's my own :ROFLMAO:

Today I have a dental appointment, about 40 miles away. So a long ride for me. Have to have all my daily chores done early this morning so I won't have to do anything when I get back home. Dread it, as going there is not a pleasant experience. Waiting for a long time in their waiting room with a lot of people.

@hollydolly
Is that bite reaction you had, all subsided now? I hope it's a lot better.

@Trila
So:( sorry that your mom fell.

@katlupe
That was such a good, clear explanation about your having the aide.
And it's a difficult situation, where dental work is so very expensive.:confused:

But you are a wonderful luminary. :)
That's a word that was in the word-of-the-day SF forum section,
and it fits for you! 🀩

@Pepper
Sending caring to you. That book title sounds good to me, other than for myself, it still doesn't 'feel like up to me.':oops::rolleyes::cry:
I wonder if I should try to find that book. Do you think it might help me?

Hello to all of you, today.
I am struggling along mightily, trying to adapt, more than I feel capable of adapting, lately.
Me too! She's very tough for being 91 years old! Thank you!

Mom and I had a wonderful time yesterday. We didn't even go anywhere.....just stayed in and visited. We did little things around the house, I changed her cell phone wallpaper to a picture of her cat, we looked at all 3 of her new coffee makers (!!!!!), looked at pictures, etc.

Mom was a champion bowler, back in the day. Years ago, I knew that she was missing it, so I bought her a table top bowling game. I pulled that out yesterday. She had forgotten that she even had it! We had so much fun! The whole day was spent laughing!

I'm rushing through here, today. After coffee and breakfast we are going into town. The idea is to get home early, and beat the heat.

@katlupe @hollydolly et Al.

I was diagnosed with OCD (Obsessive Compulsion Disorder), just as my father and maternal grandfather, things always need to be put back in its original place. Mother had bad habit of messing up, especially my clothes drawers. Urgh! It used to drive me nuts.

Thankfully, with hubby, he understood and it was bliss.

Also, suffer from mild ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Thanks to a Speedreading course which lasted two years, I was able to control my focus and concentration. Never received medication for either conditions. Although, I heard medication exists for both.

Nowadays, my multitasking abilities are borderline crazy LOL!

People needing to wash their hands often, don't like to be touch or their personal belongings touched, are known as "Germaphobe"

Germophobia is part of this group above. One celebrity who's know to be a Germaphobe, Howie Mandel

Here's hoping that these articles help you out in order to feel better.

Blessed be!

Was in the children’s section of the library, straightening the shelves this morning. A mother and her little boy (probably 3-4 yrs old) were on the far end of the shelves.

I could hear the little boy β€œreading” a book to his mom; I couldn’t fully understand him, I think he was making up the story as he went along, based on the pictures. He spoke with a lot of flair and intonation.

Eventually he finished his story and I heard him say a resounding β€œAMEN!” Mother gently corrected, β€œThe End”. And he repeated, β€œTHE END!”

🀣🀣🀣 so cute... I'm in troubles whenever I read aloud, especially to children as I make voices for the individual characters. I had to stop reading to my children as 3 chapters before bed and they wanted more.

Changed to signing lullaby from Disney's Lady and the Tramp!

It got too hot to keep working in the garden. When I'm done eating biscuits with tart cherry preserves and drinking a fruit smoothie (reward for hard work), I'm gonna hit the shower.

Except for a break under the umbrella on the patio when I get overwhelmed by the a/c, I'm in for the rest of the day. Gonna spend a few minutes tidying up, wash up a few dishes, play solitaire online.

Life in the fast lane🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️

August is going to be a busy month for my vintage MG. It's now booked into The Summertime Swing, a great all day event that we get invited to every year. This year it will be held on August 5th. The evening before the MG will be making an appearance at British Classics on the Quay at Poole, Dorset.

At the end of the month we are off to the Twinwood Festival. Held between the 25th & 28th of August.
The car has an appointment of it's own too, It will be up on the ramps for a full service and inspection on the morning of Friday 4th of August.

Grandkids are here until Thursday. I'm up at 5 to have an uninterrupted cup of coffee and some quiet time.πŸ˜‹
Okay, Ladybug. 🐞
I wish they had a cuter icon picture of one, than that one,
but I wanted to acknowledge your wonderful metamorphosis.:);):giggle:

Sounds like you enjoy having them, but are desperate for a few minutes of silence, and the joy that a peaceful cup of coffee can bring. :coffee: ☺️ 😁
