Hand washed & vacuumed inside the car & trunk (boot as called in the UK) today. It's amazing how much debris ends up in the trunk of the car. There was a small pile of dirt in there I guess from when I was transporting garden soil earlier this spring? I figured I go the extra bit and then waxed the exterior and buffed it well afterwards. Nice & shiny & clean now. Hadn't done that in awhile. I also put the Rain-X treatment on the exterior windows. That stuff is a godsend when you're driving in the rain. Don't really even have to use the windshield wipers. Water just rolls off like magic 🪄

yep I've been using Rain-X on my cars for decades

is it true , in the south of the US..if someone says ''well bless your heart'' they're really saying.. ''you stupid cow'' ?..lol
Yes. Sweet tea. And, um, bless your heart!

@hollydolly , it doesn't necessarily mean "you stupid cow" but it can be a sort of verbal eye roll ;)
Yes, it was kind of code. All the southerners knew but the cow didn't. In recent years it's become widespread knowledge so you have to be careful. :ROFLMAO:

I used to know someone that told the best bless your heart stories, ever.

Visiting my wife this AM and then staying inside with the A/C cranked up!!!

Your lows are our highs, and I find the heat depressing! I have a fan blowing on me, set to high, and can't wait until the temperatures are a pleasant seventy or so again! I don't blame you for cranking up your A/C. Most of us don't have them because they are not needed ... in more predictable times! This year has been crazy with our temps too hot too soon (at least in the Maritimes)! My daughter should be a Texan, she loves the heat!

Made it back from Arkansas. Cleaned up the home site a bit. Was hot... hot... hot. Made work slow. Having brought the tractor with me helped a bunch. Still... sad to look at was once our dream home. I was going to cut down the burnt tree's, but, decided to wait and see if nature can repair some of them. I was happy to see the honey bee's return to the hollow tree. (burnt and all).

I have a colonoscopy scheduled for next Wednesday (still need to find someone to take me tho), so today I had to start a diet of low fiber food, no red or purple dyes, and no ibuprofen. It is sort of wrenching to not be able to eat my usual foods, I will probably gain a bunch of weight snacking on chips and cheese crackers (they appear to me to fit the diet requirements even though they aren't listed on the suggested foods list). But maybe the last horrible day of colonoscopy prep will take off a few pounds! ha ha (groan, sob)

Today I paid off my mortgage, which has been my goal all year, and even though it was a quite small amount, I just feel so 'cool' for having called Fidelity and gotten money 'wired'. I'm easily excited by little financial things!

It was supposed to rain this morning so I hadn't set my alarm to get up for the regular Friday hike, and consequently I arrived too late and everyone had already disappeared into the woods. I hiked alone and it was okay, plenty of time for stopping to take pictures of leaves, mushrooms, berries, etc., but a little lonesome.

Debt free and a Colonoscopy, yea!

There are only a few samples of the purr-wuck answer to every question imaginable. Cheetos, Fritos and Chocolate.
A simple, " Lets talk about it and have some, " **** " : it's what it takes to solve most riddles of life. ..... (y)

I wasn't familiar with positive rap. I learned something new today. I like the message this one brings of bridging generations and respect for elders. Very cool.
There is a lot of positive Rap, educational Rap, Gospel Rap even Islamic Rap. The record company owners and producers, many of whom were White back in the day, purposely pushed Gangsta Rap which further tarnished the image of what Black men are all about. Of course when those songs began to sell, pushing that sub-genre stuck. My son and his groups had first hand knowledge of that. They wrote and performed good songs, inspirational songs, but didn't get signed with major companies because of their positive nature. One of his groups did get a contract with a small record company, but only released one song. I will message you the YT video; he co-wrote and performed on it.

Examples of educational Rap, one of my favorites, Kool Moe Dee..."Knowledge is King". My son particularly loves KRS One, but I never got into him. And here's The Queen...schooling young women about treatment they should not accept and actions to stay away from. Love her, she's a Jersey Girl too. Before she blew up, my son met her at a party (took a photo with her) and my exceptionally talented friend Hunter, a legend in his own right, has partied with her and her crew. Needless to say, we're very proud of her.

I think I might like positive rap, but don't really know.
As for the Queen's rap in that youtube video, I couldn't relate much to it. There seems to be a fair amount of anger and hurt in the message, and I know it is intended for those that have experienced it, so it was a bit much for me.
However, I do like her music. This is one of my favorites that she does as a remake:

I understand you not being able to relate. But her message got through to those who live it everyday in a form they paid attention to. I have Hello Stranger in my collection. I'm not the biggest fan of covers (with a few exceptions) but she did a really good job. I love most of my friend Hunter's covers more than the originals; unfortunately none of my favorites are on YT but I have videos from his shows. I also like what Angie Stone did with Trouble Man.

Today I got a haircut 1th 1st since my new leg, 4 months time frame and really needed one bad. then my best friend bought my supper we ate early. We had Chinese Food, we brought it home to eat & took dog with us to get it. Hard as it was for her she wished to go in alone to get it on her scooter and did fine. She even bought us 2 Lotto tickets each for the Lottery at 10 pm.

I spent more time TV time than usual binge watching Departure, a Peacock+ original procedural I discovered earlier today. I really got into it, so want to finish Season 1, which is expiring in less than 6 hours. I think each season is dedicated to a different transportation disaster. I have two more episodes to go. (it's now 11:42 p.m.). Since I'm up into the wee early morning hours, I'll be able to finish it. Hopefully, I will not have to rush through S2. I talked with my honorary son and most of the daylight hours I was napping. This evening I had to respond to some things here as well as messages and HBD comments for my son and on FB.

I member my mom working all the time in the kitchen fixing, freezing and canning. she was awesome. she loved to make jellies and jams. we would go and forrage for strawberries, grapes, wild grapes for her jellies and blackberries /raspberries. I quietly admit I did a lot of stuff
We had a large timber and 6oo acres there.

@timoc C'mon over here and iron DGD's clothes. I read yesterday that Gen Z has no style. I believe it, if DGD is an indicator! Maybe if her clothes were ironed, she at least wouldn't look like an unmade bed.

The weathernerds are promising rain around noon. Please, Mother Nature, let them be right this time!

I'm off to bake stuff 🥐 🥐 🥐 🥐
