What are you doing today 2023

I bet you've got a gorgeous shiner @hawkdon.

All the mulch has been spread. Need more! Ack. Garden Center has it three sacks for $10.

Apparently the freezes last winter/spring killed my African lilies. How did I not miss them until now?

There's a trip to the garden center in my immediate future...like in about 30 minutes. Besides the mulch, I saw African lilies there yesterday.

Went out for a few grocery items yesterday. It rained all day.

Today the sun is shining, supposed to stay below 80 all day but very humid.

Expecting my new phone to be delivered tomorrow. A very inexpensive phone and service. I don't need the fancy model like I had; never use any Internet things or games, etc.

It had fallen out of my sweater pocket in the woods on a rainy day when I took the dog for her walk. I did eventually find it and it worked, but the screen developed lines after about 10 seconds. Then, Sat. I dropped it on the ceramic tile in the kitchen and that was it. It's dead.

I don't really care about phones so much but it's safer to have one.

Today I needed some "Me Time" so headed up one of my favourite fells to photograph some limestone pavement and trees. It was very blustery - just what I needed :)

Great photo!! (y)

I am prepping lots of paperwork, to try to catch up on some of the important things...o_O

Btw, paperwork is not always done on or with paper, any longer, have you noticed that?:sneaky::giggle::LOL::geek::ROFLMAO:

Nevertheless, questions and forms still must be answered, bills still must be paid, things need to be applied for, proofs and details still need to be provided, etc.....o_O:rolleyes:

In between eating and sleeping and washing!:giggle::LOL::)

All of this, comes after feeding kitty, of course!😺

Morning forum friends.....no big plans for the day, supposed to stay below 90F today so glad of that, actually sat out on porch for a bit this morning....eye is
a little bit better but still sore to touch...oh well...got some groceries to order
later today....take care all.........;)
@hawkdon ....Hawky, do you ever use or will you consider using a cane? Just for a bit more stability. I won't have you falling again... I just won't have it!

I'm so sorry you fell and injured your eye area. Maybe you need to start doing boring, repetitious uncomfortable PT to strengthen your muscles. Hugs to you.

Rabbit's favorite food of all is banana. I have to limit him to a small chunk every morning.
Interesting to know that. I bet he/she is good companion. I used to want a rabbit as a pet but it just never seemed to fit in with the cats and dogs. I'm down to only cats now, no more dogs, but I probably won't get any more pets after these two.

Going to be a busy day today with lots of little catch up errands.

Have a great day, everyone! 🌷

Went to the farmers open air market & quick trip to Walmart.
Last stop the library for something to read.

Both of us got busy once we were home.
Hubby in the woodpile moving logs with the backhoe.

I walked the dog.
Looked at the tall thistles.
Started to whack on them with old flail

They were dropping & being piled up as I coped at them.

What??? that's pain I'm feeling on top of my foot?

ACK,, looks like an yellow jacket caught on my shoe!!
Shakes it off,,, still feeling stings.
Notice a bunch of tiny bees,, stinging flies .

Try to see if its a nest I hit or where they are coming from.

Moved to the other side of where I was working ,, chopped down few more thistles.

Will go back later & move all chopped down stuff to burn pile.

I've treated my ankle but feels like I better try something besides rubbing alcohol & bag balm.

That’s a hard afternoon. I once got in a ground nest of yellow jackets. I’m rushing away pulling them off my legs. Good thing I was wearing safety glasses. They were trying for my eyes. Viscous lil B-terms they are. Went out with battery powered Vac and have no problems since sucking them up coming out that hole at early dawn.

Such adventures y'all have!

@Pepper, isn't there an indoor entry where you can wait so you're not in the heat (or cold, as the case may be)?

@Sliverfox Insert bad words here _________. Did you say them or just think them?

@papa tiger That's why I'm so vigilant when mowing the lawn!

DD and I have been to the garden center. African lilies (aka agapanthus, but I like African lilies better) have been planted, along with two purple angelonia and a red purslane plant. The angelonia and purslane came from the Clarence section. $2 each. Gotta love the price.

Now I'm all showered and sweet smelling and done in the garden for the day.

Off again on Thursday. So Sunday I did what I'd usually do on Monday, and today I did what I'd usually do on Thursday. What am I gonna do on Thursday? Too much time on my hands⌛

Volunteered at the library this AM.

Sat outside and enjoyed the breeze/ate lunch til it got too muggy/hot

Talked with younger-middle son about tree trimming that needs to be done. Cedar tree limbs are crowding out my beech tree but have to be careful how we trim. I have a tree guy coming to give me an estimate. Son volunteered to show him what needs doing and get his suggestions. He says he has a better BS radar than I do, which is probably true

Now inside sipping iced coffee and going to do some more on my friends knit cap before going to granddaughters house.

I'm setting here laughing at my doctor, he said he was going prescribe an
extra strenght very good cream for my rash....just had it delivered by pharm,
and got to looking at it and the "old' cream that the epidermiologist had
prescribed......they are one and the same ! ! ! ! ! It used to be that doc's would
grab the phone and talk with other docs about what was going on with a patient, but guess that has gone out the window !!!!!! :p:devilish:

Tuesday to Tai-Chi this morning. A good session working on our Tai-Chi form and also starting on a new (to us) Chi Gung set.

After that I had the pleasure of visiting several kitched supplier/fitters where Mrs Oy had a good look at what she wants for our new kitchen and booked two people to come and measure up.

@hawkdon;

Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream,
USP 0.05%

This medicine is a corticosteroid (cortisone-like medicine or steroid).
The cream is not as strong at the OINTMENT, so ask.

It's the same strength, as well???:confused:

Yes the same strength, only diff is that todays delivery was tubes of the cream,
several of them, and the first script of the cream was a 1lb jar of cream!!!!
and it is expensive, the 1 lb jar was $425. I believe.....
Of course, though, a 1 lb jar, would be a lifetime supply!

In regards to the bees.
I think the yellow jacket was glad to get away from my other foot.
May have ground him into the dirt.

It was the tiny whatevers that were attacking my ankle.
I have freckles so it had to tell the stings from them.

Still titches.

Have froze some more corn,, think I have enough to see us through Winter.

Has anyone noticed the Winter forecast/ guess cast?
May be a nasty cold, snowy one in PA.

I did a bit of cleaning this morning. I also practiced certain parts of my old compositions. My fingering is rusty and I want to make sure I can still play those runs. I could have gone to the store but was waiting for the fire marshal to come inspect the apartment. He was supposed to go to all units but I found out about 2:30 from my neighbor, whose husband is on the board, that he only did the townhouses and one of the buildings, then left. The inspection was scheduled for between 8:30 and 2:30. I do not go to the local supermarket after 1:00.

I unpacked and put away Deja's Chewy order. I was on the phone with my granddaughter for quite a while, helping her take care of urgent business for her upcoming semester. I had a chat with my sister, then another long conversation with one of my cousins who is in charge of very important facets of our family reunion planning. I went on Facebook to wish one of my favorite musical artists a happy birthday. Then the usual...WWF and Blue Bloods. I only took a short nap for a change.
