What are you doing today 2023

My furnace/air conditioner fan stopped working this morning. The repair person was out within an hour, and he says he'll get me a replacement either today or at the latest by 2 pm tomorrow. No charge (included in HOA fees). I'm sure glad the fan waited until after the weekend to break down (I think it has been slowly failing for a few months, probably that is why the unit froze up with ice a couple months ago).

Luckily not too hot today (though I might change my opinion about that as the hours without air conditioning continue, maybe I'll go hang out at one of the clubhouses).
Honeynut...I'm confused ..pleased you're getting you fan fixed for free.. but why would there have been even a question with regard HOA fees ? surely you don't have to pay fees when you're having a repair done to your home

Strike that 15 minutes of torrential rain I stated earlier, and replace it with the last 7 hours... and we STILL have thunder and lightening. I truly have never heard such a loud storm, it's like a war is going on...

Everywhere in town and the valley will be flooded and likely to be impassable tomorrow. Thankfully I live up high... but even then the puddles are deep on our flat roads up here...

Our condo/HOA fees don't cover everything, just building maintenance, trash, water, hot water, and heat&air conditioning. Any other repairs (laundry machines, kitchen appliances) and electricity I have to pay for myself.

@hollydolly There's an easy solution to carrying vacuum up and down the stairs. Do what we did when we lived in a house: bought a vacuum to keep upstairs! Took me years to think of it

I'm Covid boosted and flu shotted. They don't have the RSV vaccine yet; when they do, I'll be vaccinated for that, too.
I have nowhere to store a vacuum upstairs.. which is why I have 2 smaller handheld cordless vacs.. one upstairs and one downstairs..

Today is Monday, right……
Is it still Monday…..🥴.
Thought I would create some frustration for myself today…..just to see if I miss frustration.
I did a good job with creating.
Thought I would go online to check my statis for my up coming Old Age Pension.
I failed, and failed and failed some more…….
There is no easy way of doing anything when it comes to governments.
Doesn’t seem to matter what I did, could not get what I wanted to know.
Got a lots of……We are having difficulties, please try again later……
So…….
Our election is tomorrow……so we’re supposed to vote for a government, that says……We are having difficulties, please try again later…..
So…….

Home from Americus... napped

Now enjoying my candles in the fireplace and trying to think (duuuuhhh) of content for "It's been a year since I retired" diary entry.

It's really hazy outside, almost like there's a large fire somewhere close by. I don't know.

I still have not really done anything yet. Unloaded the dishwasher, saw that the silver organizer in the drawer was dirty, so washed that, will put in the silverware later.

Loaded a few things in the dishwasher. I just went and had a good hot shower. Washed my hair, shaved legs, now I am exhausted. Why does taking a shower wear me out? Anyone else suffer this?

Resting now on the couch, towel on my head. Will get in the kitchen and make
taco meat in a little while.

I spent some time earlier browsing on line. I need some new tops. I have moved to a size that I need plus size. I am not familiar with those sites. Can anyone give me some suggestions for reasonable clothing for larger sizes? Macys had nothing, Kohls might be okay, I have a Kohls nearby to go lookl.

I took a walk around the neighborhood this morning, then walked to the supermarket. Since the weather has calmed down a bit, I'm going to try to get in more walking on a regular basis. I walked almost 2 miles today. I'd like to be able to comfortably walk longer and put in more miles.

I napped for several hours, played my games and talked with my BFF this evening. I also continued the accounting for my son and I. He uses my cards, pays me back when the bill is due and I calculate how much in cash backs he's due each quarter. I use a spreadsheet to keep track of all that stuff.

Shopping day. This afternoon hopefully we'll get a bit of painting done. The door from our porch to the hall is half glazed, but I've been given a new fully glazed door (15 panels) that I'm going to fit. It will make the hall a bit brighter in the afternoon / evening, when the sun comes round.
I've cut out the rebates of the hinges, now I have to drill out a hole for the latch. Pity the latch is rectangular and I only have round drills!

Glorious sunny day altho' feel s a little chilly sitting here next to the office room window.... I suspect after the storm yesterday there's quite a lot. of flooding down in the valley... I was debating whether to go out today.. and I have decided against it. I might just leave everything I have to do until Thursday when I have to go out and have my hair cut... anyway..

On my early walk around 6:15, wearing my yellow reflector vest, I went to buy today's NYT,temp was 65
I've been wearing shorts for the past couple of days since we've had unseasonable warm temps, yesterday's high was 78
This morning around 9:30, strolling over to Marcia&Dave's to dog sit my 'buddy boy' Tage for a 3 hours.Marcia will be at a meeting. I always ask her what her schedule is like for the upcoming week,if she needs me to dog sit.Its always the highlight of my week when I can spend some time with Tage, has me wrapped around his paws
