Well it's racing towards 9pm.. pitch dark... but I managed to get a few things done today in the sunshine that I couldn't get done outside during the last 3 days of torrential rain.....however despite the sun and the relative heat by the time it got dark at 6pm...the grass and the patio furniture was still soaking wet...

More rain expected tomorrow from late afternoon...

Tonight I took some meds over to my ex husband (DD's dad) ..he can't get out when it rains because it affects his breathing.., he has COPD..and is on Oxygen..it's a terrifying sight to witness, I hope I never get that..

Almost midday Sunday. Since Friday pm, have not had Internet access from my Dell laptop because AT&T made mistakes when connecting up a new customer. So just using this old moto g smartphone, pecking at the screen.

Today is a huge Oktoberfest a few blocks away. 15 bands on 4 stages over the weekend and will return for the best classic rock group that begins in 80 minutes.

Hopefully will get back up on the web by later Monday. Had to go down to a local AT&T store to help straighten the situation they caused out.
It's very frustrating relying on a Phone for internet access.. so I'm sure you'll be relived when you're up and running again on the laptop.

Oktoberfest here was last weekend..on the Saturday and Sunday... and apparently it was packed.. which was a pity because altho' there was a huge beer tent there wasn't enough undercover for the vast majority to shelter from the Torrential rain 🌧️⛈️🌧️☔🍻

I'm home. We spent a lot of time in the antique shop just browsing, then stopped at a local pizza place for a bite to eat.

Why do I get so tired after a few hours out? Well...duh...because if I've worked 5-6 hours already, a 3-hour outting is a bit much.

@Pepper. Yay! The cat doctor is as smart as I am;)

Not going to any fabulous places or meeting any fabulous people here.

Dealing with fallen leaves, figuring out whether I need to call the Doc's office about when to go for the tests ordered. There was some remark suggesting "before next appointment" but then they didn't have an appointment slot for me either. Isn't it fun? Worse yet I think there was a mention of fasting beforehand as well as stopping at the lab to get something before going for the lab tests. My guess, some kind of "sample" container.

Every day is such a festival when you're old. :ROFLMAO:

@Pepper, the babies may smell because of flea and tick treatments at the shelter. The last pup I got at the pound did not smell good either. It was straight into the bath after her vet check. I did not want to put anything on her until the doc gave the okay.

I use an oatmeal shampoo that leaves my dogs smelling like sugar cookies!

Well at long last the rain has stopped.. and it's sunny and warm... 🌞 🌞 🌞 but everything is soaked thoroughly outside...

In the garden I had to brush down 3 days worth of Cobwebs over the patio furniture... .. and the Ivy over the shed has grown as fast as a 100 meter sprinter.. so I had to cut that back.. even though it's absolutely drenched ...

Got all the windows open now to let the house get. warmed by the sun....

Around here it has cooled off and gotten a little wetter than a sidewalk wetting. So I took some time after our walk to get some photos of the garden while it is wet to remember in case it doesn't continue. I have some pruning and cutting back to do too.

I took this one yesterday from a bayside dog park looking at the clouds building up over San Francisco to fuel today's weather.

If the people who are featured on murder shows are loved by everybody, how come they get murdered? They're always people who light up the room and have loving and warm personalities. They're also brilliant and pillars of the community or leaders in their schools. Hmph. If they were all that...

Yeah. I'm watching murder shows again. The loved-by-everybody, brilliant, pilllars and leaders speeches must be part of the script. I mean really, if somebody offed me, I can't imagine that there would be people standing in line to heap praise upon my brains, wit, scintillating and effervescent personality and sterling character. Unless they got paid for it.

Looking back on yesterday and earlier today. Yesterday, my friend S.M and I were up in the nearby village, and we built a structure to closely surround & hide a small C-Can that houses a mutual friend's largish ceramic kiln. This friend is a potter. The village has brought in a bylaw against C-Cans on village residential properties. It seems a silly requirement, as the C-Can is in excellent condition, finished in a good, grey-green matte color, and is carefully positioned in a tidy back yard.

Today S.M. and I, and our wives, helped another friend to move a cord (128 cubic feet) of firewood from one rental living quarters to another.

A good time was had both days.

yep it's the same here.. Joe toerag , murdered at 18 ... kind, funny.. lovable rogue, very popular by everyone who knew him.. adored his mother, ... killed...

Later we find out Joe Toerage has been making his neighbours' lives a misery for years by dealing drugs having loud parties... and burgling everyone's houses..

I see the same thing often on the nightly news here. People with the qualities you mention don't just get knocked off randomly very often. On the other hand, those involved in drug dealing, gangs and the like are destined to be murdered sooner or later. When interviewed, friends and relatives speak of them as if they're saints

I doubt you have to worry about being 'offed' GG. Grannies working their gardens & baking croissants are not at the top of anyone's hit list.

Just drove home from my son's house. It was 3 hours of torrential downpour. The traffic on the main freeway was moving at 30 mph because you couldn't even tell if you were still in the same lane anymore. It was brutal and white knuckle most of the way. Just bad timing. So glad to be home.

Refilled supplies in two insulated bags, one I take when I go to the park or down to Atlantic City, the other is a backup for emergencies.

Consulted with my video producer on slight changes I’d like to see, which necessitated several viewings. Turns out she’s not going to use footage of me playing. We agreed that it wouldn’t fit the whimsical theme she came up with. We both suggested minor changes that will enhance the video.

I cleared yesterday's clutter off my dining table and put some items away. Made chili in my little crock pot and wound up taking an impromptu nap. So my dinner was postponed about 4.5 hours; I ate and took my meds at 11 p.m. Now, I expect to be up until daylight. @dilettante

Your G.G.G.G. Grandmother's Garter Knife (?) ... Two Oldies from 1800's Sheffield England
Prolly doesn't interest you at all, but a couple of very old knives in my collection.

I spent this weekend reorganizing my knife collection. Finally counted and I have 219 pocket and fixed blade knives.
Two hundred *freaking* nineteen !!! That's not even counting kitchen knives ... but there certainly aren't THAT many.
Anyway, it's now just after one in the morning and I'm wrapping things up by giving some "Luv" to these two oldies.

The dagger was picked up from the Los Angeles area and how it got there I don't know.
The dagger is about ~150yrs old and if it wasn't your G.G.G.G. Grandmother's garter knife ...
I find myself thinking about cigar smoke in the air, the clinking of glasses and bottles, and the sound of a piano wafting it's way through the cacophony of a crowded bar. I'm sure there were plenty of places like that on the west coast ... may have even seen the inside of some hall in San Francisco back in the day. May have belonged to a dandy with a honking diamond ring. Who knows.

The Bowie style knife was made by Manson, Sheffield, in 1859 and is a Civil War era vintage.
The original leather sheath is carved with a bullet, crossed rifles and a canoe.
I picked up this knife from New York state. Whether or not it was or wasn't in the Civil War, I don't know.
But it is a type knife that was often carried by the troops.

From abuse and neglect, both rise, able and ready to do work ... or pleasure ... again.

Taking it easy today afer slipping on the mud along the shore and landing face first on my camera yesterday! (Don't worry - the camera is fine!) - I have a very swollen left side of my face and a lovely black eye lol!

I think a gentle stroll down the sea front just to make sure the camera is working as it should!
