What are you doing today 2023

@hearlady, the dizziness comes from medication I take, specifically a muscle relaxer and blood pressure medication. I must not have eaten enough dinner before I took the medication. I do space them apart a couple of hours but it will mess me up if I don't eat enough.

It is always something, the muscle relaxers are for nerve damage in my neck. If I don't take them I get very bad migraines, neck and shoulder pain. Thanks for your wise words. If it was something new happening I would go see the doctor.

I got out to the grocery to pick up this weeks loss leaders. Half a spiral ham @.97lb, aspargus .97lb, xlarge frozen shrimp, 4.99lb. I also bought a coffee creamer, pepperment chocolate. for 1.99. I have never tried one of these flavored creamer. I use half and half but thought it might be fun to try at such a good price.

I played myself as a tilt a whirl last night in the bathroom. The fall was broken by my hard head striking the corner of the tub enclose. I certain thought there would be blood, surely I had cracked open my forehead. Was so relieved when I pulled my hand away, nothing. It is bruised but there is no bump.

I decided to put one of my walkers in there as I have fallen in there before. This way I won't whip around to sit down and lose my balance if I get dizzy.

I am sorry to hear that so many of you are sick or putting up with those inconveniences that we all will have from time to time. As usual, we all will do what we have to be independent as can in our circumstances.
So sorry you banged your head @Blessed. Putting a walker in there is a good idea.

Hi folks ... been away but (like the 'bad penny') I'm back again :)

This thread caught my eye because I've started one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" projects.
A while ago my daughter bought me a Kintsugi kit. This is a traditional Japanese method of repairing damaged or broken ceramics using gold to fill the cracks and chips.
A few weeks after giving me the kit she also gave me a box full of the remains of a Chinese rice bowl which had been broken whilst being washed. Suffice to say I stared at the shattered remains of the bowl for a lengthy period before deciding that I should give it a go.
It's a lengthy process and I thought I would just share a sitrep as things stand right now. (see photo)

I'm up and still grumpy about yesterday's adventure at the doc's office:mad:

That 3-hour appointment included a few 15-30 minute wait times for this that and the other and an EKG. It was 3 hours start to finish.

Got up to an email from Kaiser that the doc had created "appointment tickets" for me for cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology and I forget who all else. Those "tickets" are actually referrals. I don't want to be bothered with any of it. When I mentioned it to DD, she told me to hurry up and make the appointments because her January schedule is "filling up fast." Okay. What days does she have available? She said to just make the appointments. How can I do that if I don't know when she can take me?

Working alone today until 11. Only scheduled until 11. IOW, working alone:mad: It's just as well because I'm not fit to be around anybody this morning.

Day off tomorrow. Not a minute too soon.

you sound very cheerful this morning lol

Well it;s grim out there but not raining... (10.30am)... just waiting now for the garage to ring and let me know when the car is ready for collection.. could be this morning, or more likely this afternoon. I have to get a bus again to go and fetch it...

GIGI.. my daughter does the exact same thing.. She gets all huffed and puffed, and demands I tell her dates so she can '' arrange time off around it ''... can't blame her for that.. but what they don't realise is that we're already stressed about situations which need their help without them getting in a strop about it as well , ...so don't feel you're alone in this 🤗

Feel physically weak, but mentally feel I'm recovering. This covid I had, while not acutely bad, was bad nonetheless. I feel I can regain some strength today. I must try, life is passing me by. It will be sunny today. I should go out, even to stand in a sunny spot and soak it up. I will encourage myself.

Oh! My therapist has opened a case with AccessARide on my behalf and is even trying to get her agency's lawyers involved. Her goal is to get me private rides if possible. The fact that she is trying, is putting herself out for me, is so heartwarming, right? no matter what the outcome, which I believe will be nothing.

Weather here is pretty miserable. It's been raining all night and this morning, although the (usually unreliable) forecast says that it will dry up later this afternoon. By chance, I looked at the airport schedules and DD's flight is earlier than we expected. I think this is because Loganair have replaced some older planes with new jets.

Mrs. L has gone to have her hair done. She'll be back shortly, so I'll go and get the coffee machine up and running.

Good morning folks!!! I'm up yes, but not moving fast....got some things to catch up on today, dishes for one..last eve I made myself some little loafs of cornbread to go with the
bean soup for supper, actually turned out pretty good....got
word that a Neice passes away 2 wks ago...we were not close at all but still....she was 69 years old...A friend brought by a plate
of Christmasy sweets for me...nice of her....if I could figure out
how to put pics on here I'd show you some from yesterday....
It is 36 deg F going to 55 or so today....catch u later!! :p:cool:

Well the news doesn't get better about my car. Just waiting for a call to go and pick it up.. and the guy tells me that now they have it up on the ramps doing the welding they can see that both rubber boots (whatever they are )..on the suspension have perished, one much worse than the other, and they would normally be able to replace them easily but in my car they need welding, and so they can't do that in the time they have, because I need the car for tomorrow to get to the hospital.

He said without them being repaired, it will not pass it's MOT test.. which for non Brits is an annual mechanical legal test , and a fail means it's then illegal to drive on the roads, until the repairs are made and it goes through another test. It's the Bane of every motorists life.. it costs money to have the Test and money for any repairs.. etc.. every 12 months..

Anyway.. my MOT is due at the beginning of January so this work has to be done by then.. and he's going to be away over the Christmas period.. his garage will close...so in the meantime, he told me it's safe to drive, but it will have to be fixed in the next 2 weeks for it to pass the MOT...

*sigh*...

In the meantime he's replaced the brake discs as well as the exhaust...

The car still isn't ready for collection tho'.. I hope he hurries up, because the bus service out here stops at around 5pm... and I need to catch the bus to the garage..

Do you have any grab bars in the bathroom? That might help. There are also toilet seats with arms FYI. Two types actually.

I think I'm doing ok myself.

She-who-must-be-obeyed is communicating again, and gone from mortified to just two death threats. Having been married at one time, I'm probably in the clear for now.
