OK...I;m back from the storm.. the lashing rain the high winds.. trains have all been cancelled..
there was 2 hospital physiotherapists who were administering my injections..(I was in there for an hour)... the strange thing was that I didn't feel any pain in the right knee which is agonising ... as they injected.. but when they did the left knee.. which is nowhere nearly as sore as the right knee..I nearly passed out with the pain, and one of the physios literally had to grip my hands to stop me screaming..
I'm not new to steroid injections, I used to get them in my lumbar region... and they always took 2 weeks to work..after the numbing wore off..never felt a thing..
Today they told me the same thing..the numbing will last 6 hours.. ( that's nearly up now ).. and there's a good chance there will be significant pain for the next 2-3 days.. then by 2 weeks I should see a difference in the level of original pain.. If not then it hasn't worked..
...so..because of the Injected Lidocaine prior to the steroid, I had no pain after I was done.. and it seemed like I had new knees already... and because they said about the 6 hour thing.. I thought I'll take myself off to meet up with my friend, and we had a quick lunch at the pub, then went to the Garden centre.. which was absolutely mobbed, because they have the circus there as well..despite the fact that it's pouring of rain and blowing a gale.. the garden centre was chock full of people.. (i'm downloading the pics now )
Then after that, I popped into the Opticians and bought a new pair of prescription sunglasses.. my Christmas gift to myself...
My car is driving beautifully now, no squeaky brakes, no noisy exhaust ... ... so I think I've fitted in a weeks' worth of action.. into 24 hours...
