What candies do you remember from your childhood?

Good & Plenty - white and pink candy coated licorice bits. In college, I dated a fellow and we were at a movie theater. He wanted to go to the snack bar and asked me if I wanted anything. I said "Good and Plenty". He came back without them. I asked why and he said he felt funny about asking the female cashier for "Good and Plenty".

Bonomos Turkish Taffy was the cheapest thing you could buy at the theater.....five cents.

You got your money's worth, for sure. It could pull out fillings and loosen teeth. It was usually stale and hard. Frankly, I thought it tasted awful but then again, if all you had was five cents ........

Pure sugar and artificial colors! 😲 I loved them. My mom hated them. I'd be out playing with my little girlfriend, Angela, and we'd be sucking down Pixy Sticks. You sprinkled them on your tongue and let the sugar dissolve. I can remember coming home and standing on the porch, and the first thing my mom said to me was, "Stick out your tongue." Uh oh, ya can't hide a blue tongue! 🤪

I belong in the weird aisle. Growing up I didn't care for candy or ice cream. Lucky for me my sister loved both. I remember being on the boardwalk in Wildwood on vacation and my Dad buying us ice cream and candy. Luckily for me, my sister would finish hers and then eat mine. Strangely now that I have diabetes I crave candy and ice cream.
