Research shows that blue-eyed folks share a single, common ancestor. Scientists tracked a genetic mutation that took place thousands of years ago (think Ice Age) which is the cause of all blue-eyed people around today. You have better night vision.

Very interesting. I have blue eyes and my night vision has always been horrible. :)
 
What surprised me was how few blue eyes there are compared to brown. I would have guessed brown and blue were about 50/50...
 
I have Blue eyes but both my brother and sister and my parents have brown eyes. My Mom came from a family of 11. All the boys had blue eyes and all the girls had brown eyes. My Mom always said my eyes were blue because my twin that she lost previous to my birth had blue eyes also. I was always the odd one out until I married a blue eyed man and both our children have blue eyes.
 
Dark brown. Which is a little unusual because I am blonde. Certainly not unheard of,but more common to have blue. My mom had blue eyes,dad had brown. First two kids had blue eyes,last three brown. Hubby and I both have brown but our kids are brown,two blue and one hazel.
