What exercise have you done today?

30 minutes on the exercise bike at an average of 11.2 mph. I made a big jump in duration and compensated by droping the inytensity from an average speed of 12.8 to 11.2. Even so I feel like I may have overextended. My legs feel like rubber. I'm not going to go beyond 30 minutes any time soon. In fact I might cut back a bit on the time.

Observations after 8 workouts on the exercise bike.

1. Compared to regualr biking it is boring.

2. It operates like a fixed gear bike, which I have never ridden. You have to keep pedaling. No coasting. I really miss that. That makes it difficult to adjust your position on the seat while you are riding.

3. On the plus side it's convienient. And you don't have to risk your life in traffic. Mobile, Alabama is not bicycle friendly.

My legs hurt today, too, and I did chair exercises! It was such a fun work-out too, rock music with a peppy instructor, but I guess the little bounce and kick motions were too much for my bad knees.

I'm also finding that trying to do cardio with your arm movements instead of the usual big muscles of the hips and thighs, is really hard. I end up with soreness in all the wrong places like my neck and collarbones.

I'm not giving up, though. YouTube has about a hundred videos of work-outs for senior feebs such as myself. One of them must be just right.

25 min.round trip...down to community mailbox..down the hill...then back up..
Clear& 60° ...
but 'a far cry' from the recommended
minutes of 150 weekly..
but some..is better than none'😉

I managed to strain my ACL doing those YouTube work-outs for seniors. My left knee doesn't have an MCL anymore, so all the other ligaments have to work harder and I really need to do things that allow them time to line up properly for the work.

So it's back to my careful re-hab workout while hanging onto the counter top. 10 minutes.

@PeppermintPatty You're doing so great!

I went to Planet Fitness this morning. I did a little more than 15 minutes of the treadmill, a little more than 18 minutes of the stride machine (reminds me of doing the elliptical, but sitting down. I also used the rowing machine for just shy of 16 minutes.

I walked to these places then came home, got my HOA check and took that to our community drop box. My pedometer, which is usually about 5 minutes off per half hour shows that I walked for 33 minutes (which means I probably walked for 38 minutes).

I started hiking the North Country Trail system today. They have a 100 mile challenge that I will try to complete this year. Off to a slow start, only (2.36 miles) but I have the rest of the year to chip away at the 100 miles. I took 2 bottles of water for the hike and sure enough I left both bottles in the truck so that cut me short a little today.
