What exercise have you done today?

When I was young I used to run for exercise. But by the time I was 40 I was having a lot of trouble with tendonitis in my right achilles tendon. So I switched to biking. That went well for a while and at one time I was averaging 5,000 miles a year. However traffic kept getting worse and with the advent of cell phones it got so dangerous out on the road that I felt like I had used up 8 and 1/2 of my 9 lives. So I switched over to walking. That worked for about 10 years but then my right achilles tendon got inflamed again and this time it hasn't healed no matter how long I rest it.

I'm in physical therapy now for it and I've been gong crazy with not being able to do any cardiovascular exercise. So I started looking on facebook market place for a used exercise bike. Last Tuesday I bought this one for $950. It sells new for $2175 and seems to be in almost new condition. The first 2 days I spent just trying it out and setting it up to be the most comfortable for me. Then yeaterday and today I begin doing "workouts" on it. I'm really out of shape cardiovasularly so I've only been going for 10 minutes a day so far. The first day I averaged 12.5 miles per hour and 71 RPMs for the 10 minutes. Today I averaged 13.0 miles per hour and 75 RPMs.

I'm really starting to like it and am looking forward to getting my cardio back in shape.

Accidentally fell out of bed at 3 A. M. because I was trying not to squish the dog and got too close to the edge. Then did a butt-walk across the floor so I would be in front of a sturdy chair, next did a few pull-ups trying to get into that chair, finally had to wake the hubs and instruct him in getting me up, reminding him when he held his hand out that we weren't at the debutante ball and he would have to actually put his hands under my armpits and lift. We're both pretty exhausted from the work-out.

I notice you keep well hydrated, that helps with skin tone. Your pec exercise seems to be working . Might I suggest working on your gluteus maximus? And of course pics if you have equal success.
Knight, that's Lily James, my favorite young actress. She played the best Cinderella ever, the perfect partner for a knight.

At my age the gap would be to great. Absolutely no way my wife would tolerate me being a Knight to Lily James.:)

15 minutes on the exercise bike at an average of 11.0 mph. Achieved my goal for today. I think I'm going to keep it in the 10-12 mph range and try to increase the time gradually.

I fed livestock as usual up down out of truck and on and off tractor with hay rolls all on my new leg without any cane or anything being Sunday and no mail today so no 550 meter walk to get it but all the above plus gym tomorrow starts my week at 11 am mail at noon after therapy for my leg, lots up get up and down for me daily it gets semi hard after so many times up and down...

I took the saddle off of my regular bike and put it on the exercise bike. It's a well broken in Brooks B17 and a lot more comfortable. With it I was able to go for a full 20 minutes at an average of 11.8 MPH. After that I did dead lifts. Doing dead lifts with my rubbery legs after the exercise bike was a bit harder than I would like them to be. I'm going to try just riding the exercise bike on days that I don't do weights.

I actually went to a little gym our community has today. Been trying for 3 weeks to get a door pass card. I did 1 mile on a stationary bike. Some treadmill, but cant tell how far. I will bring my glasses next time. And I also lifted some light weights a little bit. I will try and do this a couple times a week if possible. Lord knows I could stand to loose 5 or 30 lbs...
