What exercise have you done today?

The Los Angeles area is being inundated by an atmospheric river, and it has been raining for three days already. So, I can't take the pups out on our usually walk. They either have to run around in the yard and get wet, or play in our large covered patio. In the meantime, I am using my mini gym that I have exactly for such occasions.

Up to 27 minutes on the Treadmill and 18 on the bike so making progress. Still only one block for dog walking. Got some instructions for yoga and now that Little one is back in school and daughter finally able to go back to work, plan on starting TaiChi and Yoga in near future. Still am not willing to go back to the gym with the uptick in COVID cases. My COPD renders me somewhat more vulnerable.

After being sick awhile I got back.x Today Walked 35 minutes. Recumbent bike 20 min.(stationary) 110 curl ups, bench press and curls. Along with my phys. therapy for incontinence. I have a workout room. Used to do an hour with weights and bike. But my go to was the Stairmaster for 35 yrs. I finally wore it out and my son hauled itto the dump last week. It was like my
best friend. I probably read well over 100 books on it over the years. Perfect wkout. Had music going and a fan blowing on me...............while reading and getting exercise.

I like walking on the beach where I live but I have to stay on the flat wet compact sand when I walk because the dry uneven sand is murder on my ankles.
When we go to beach I walk a long way but its slanted so I have to return same way to even it out. Flagler Beach in Fla. Yeah you gotta find that packed sand. But its usually close to water. I love going out about 15 minutes before sunrise and watch it come up. I have lots of pictures and videos from last summer.

Well... let's see. Today I dug up a tree and 15 other plants to transplant along our front fence. Then went out into the back yard and started chopping the overgrown area in the back corner. Back got a little sore, so I stopped the chopping and decided to lay out the gutters and hardware that I'll be putting on the back of the house tomorrow. Of course this is in between the time's we have to walk the fur babies down the dead end road. (at least twice a day).
Oh yeah, I had to shuffle the cars around to get the Camaro out of the shop so mamma can use it tomorrow while I'm doing the gutters. That involved not only shuffling the cars, but, I had to wash the car too. In between times, I'd pop into my room and check out the forum too. :) I think this qualifies as exercise.

I went to the gym on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Today was the day to give my muscles a rest. I've had chronic shoulder and neck pain for the past couple of months. Today I got a massage, including a "cranial massage". The pain is gone. I need to schedule massages more often.

I totally respect your decision, but your gym must be crowded. My Planet Fitness is huge and I'm never within 6 feet of anyone. I could throw my water bottle and never hit anyone.

As a person who just turned 87 in Dec, who has COPD and is recovering from lung cancer treatment, I feel my self imposed isolation from the general public is a wise decision. I have multiple interests to keep me busy and I do have my family for company. I also interact with the neighbors (at a bit of a distance) when out walking Lily.
My daughter goes to the same gym and says the gym is at times crowded, so not willing to risk it.

I've been doing some primitive workouts with a staff, but now I think I have the shoulder, arm, wrist, and hand strength to move into the basics as shown here:

Nice weather makes it easier, I would break too many lamps and such indoors. :ROFLMAO:
